Bernie Gurr and Ricky Stuart won a premiership together at the Roosters. But they won spoons at Parra on separate occasions. And you still think our employees are the problem?

Look at Saints. A fit Widdop vaugh and Sim and they prob win comp IMO.
They had luck during year and got hammered late with injuries.
We had no luck all year and hammered with injuries. Who had the worse luck?

Id rather cop injuries in a shit year like this was.

Now into the reason of bad is good.
Players values plummet.Shave atleast 100k off 80% of our squad while dragons players many could add 50-100k.
Next is attitude and drive. Very hard to put in and have a huge year and fall short. A team will be much hungrier after a year like ours. Giys are playing for future.
I like our 2019 squad. Its a real firecracker of a team. So many guys wanting to prove a point. Also weakness will be fixed. BA may not be tactically brilliant but he is an nrl coach. He wouldnt be a complete dope. I am sure he is getting advise.

On a side note I have heard a former junior will return from a team who was kncoled out last night......

But those in the media are telling us that Billy had no other choice and this was the only tackle he could have made.

So a regulation tackle wouldn’t have stopped the try.

And according to the commentators (and Slater) the tackle was ok as that was the only way he could have stopped the try being scored. So now we have various gradings of shoulder charges.

1. To stop a try, or performed by Slater (and Smith) - ok
2. Any other time, or performed by Parra player at any time - not ok, grading from 1 to 3 except if Parra player, always grade 3.

I think the chances of him beating the charge are very high. If he does, I will be very interested in how they explain it away. There will be some mental gymnastics being done at NRL HQ right now looking for any way they could get him off.

Like I said, I’ve got no problem with him going to the match and even cheering on the Roosters. Just wearing the scarf I have a problem with. Seems petty, I know, but it really isn’t a good look.

I’m not someone looking to put the boot in. Not once have I criticised Gurr on this forum (that I can remember anyway), nor have I criticised him in real life. I think the whole club had a shitty year, and he has had a part in that, but I’m not calling for his head. One bad season shouldn’t get you fired.
