With the potential offloading of our halves, it’s evident the plan thus far has failed. Until I see otherwise or see more stability/better recruiting then I won’t be changing my opinion.
We r not looking to offload both halves, how many times does it need to be said u pessimistic fool?? The first of either to find a new home will be offloaded, the other will play for his future in 2019..clear as mud?

I'd argue his tactics were far worse than the squad, don't get me wrong the squad had holes in it but no way was it the worse squad in the comp. Makes his performance this season even worse.

Ok fair enough, what tactics were they? And what tactic changes do we need, to improve in 2019?

I’ll throw in our 1-dimensional attack. That block play was beyond predictable and we failed to change it up all year.

All play makers (1, 6 and 7) need to run the ball more and engage the defence in attacking raids to create space out wide.

I also think we need to run more from dummy half. If our current options are unable to take advantage of quick play the balls we need to find one that will. Mahoney may develop but would like Seggy as well.

So you didn’t watch or attack this season??? Boring outdated block plays with rubbish shapes. I was at the Bronco game and our shapes in attack were u12’s stuff. You can tell the players had no confidence in what they were doing but they did it anyway because it’s what they are coached to do. So glad our attack coach has gotte. An extension so Well earnt.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s the equivalent of being assaulted by a wet lettuce. But that’s what you merkins do in the face of logic - you revert to the ‘nuthugger’ comments.

You aren’t really challenging anyone with your feeble arguments. If you were you wouldn’t have reverted to the name calling like your mates @hineyrulz and @El Diablo.

Ok, let me respond again. Why are my arguments feeble? Because they don’t suit your agenda or you don’t agree with me? I clearly stated in a previous post that BA was looking outside of our squad (Austin and Newcastle plodder) if he moves one or two halves on. After many stated he’s looking at promoting within (brown and salmon).

I’m just getting the impression BA is throwing darts in the dark and hoping for the best. If you fail to agree with me, I’m sorry there ain’t much I can do.

Btw, I been called death rider for years. It hasn’t bothered me to date.

Let’s not forget our midfield bombs on last. Great tactic that one

I think a lot of clubs used the midfield bomb last year as a means to trap the opposition close to their line.

Our problem was the execution (where it landed) and our non-existent kick chase.

Yeah but ours were genuine midfield. I’d rather a long kick downfield when we’ve struggled to go forward.

Yes, there was no effort in our kick chase.

Yep, it’s even more clearer. BA has no preference on which one is offloaded, he’s just hoping a club will take either at near maximum wage. A wage that rival clubs at baulking at. Sounds like the plan is falling into place nicely

I’d agree - tactics and his ability to get his players to perform are where he let us down.

The players let us down by not actually producing what they did the prior season based on what had already worked.

You were the one who threw your toys out of the cot in the previous discussion and played the man instead of the ball.

I can tell you how that looked but only you can explain why you gave up on the discussion. Maybe you felt like @Joshuatheeel was talking shit? It came across as if you had nothing of substance to offer in return. Apologies if I appear rude in making that observation.

Wouldn’t mind signing that Khabib bloke from the UFC. If we could sort out his his I’ll discipline anger issues no merkin would ever out wrestle us in the ruck again!

I agree, and our block play wasn’t good this year. It was terrible!!

BA definitely needs to fix up our attacking structure.

Regarding halves / hooker running more, this has a lot to do with not having a real “big body) in the middle or threats on the edge, to give them room to run. Paulo will help with this in the middle (Evans was very underwhelming this year, hopefully he can improve). While on the Moeroa is improving while Manu started the year slowly, Taka didn’t perform, t-rex was injured and Lane will hopefully provide another option on the edge.

Also I reckon Hayne and Gutho’s injuries didn’t help our attack hopefully they are injury free next year.

Interestingly Mahoney (4 runs for 32 m) is already averaging more run metres then Seggy (3 runs for 32 m). Yeah seggy is making more per run but you also need to factor in seggy is more experienced and playing behind a better pack.
