We are the last game next weekend so will know where the rest of the table finishes before we play. If Brisbane finish 7th and Cronulla 8th, do you reckon both parra and manly will try to lose to avoid playing sharks in week 1

Edit: this post is completely inaccurate. Carry on

History shows these kids are ‘happy’ to take less at the roosters and in particular the broncos. Every year or two we are reading repetitive/recycled stories (albeit different players) about players taking less to stay at Brisbane. Then when these said players leave, it automatically frees up 2 mill to sign or resign 4 gun players.

Happening far to often to be a coincidence. Especially when 300k cash mysteriously disappears and automatically reappears at one of the said clubs.

Hey look, I don't discount the leverage of "bronco dollars" , again I'm just pointing out it's not that straightforward.

We will play either at home

Brisbane,Sharks,Tigers,Newcastle

Or Sharks away.

Worse case for mine would be Sharks away. I'd rather avoid Sharks all together.
If Turbo is done then best for NRL would be Parra and Sharks playing Manly and Broncos and winning. They would have a chance against whoever looses from top 4.
Brisbane and Manly will not.

Question is if Raiders lost would they play there next game in Canberra or Sydney?

Or if them and Melbourne won are the major semis played away from Sydney?
That would be a bad result for NRL.

My apologies, I had the days completely wrong

Is it fair that Roosters and Souths get 2 days extra rest then Canberra?

If Souths did finish 5th and played Sharks it would be 3 days extra.

Seems unfair to me. All games in last round should be played same day. Or perhaps Friday and Saturday. Not a 4 day span.

You know i remember checking the draw before they announced the last 5 rounds (hadn't even thought about it not actually being scheduled yet) and i think they all say Sunday 4pm before they are scheduled. Last week i was convinced we were playing the Dogs on Sunday cause i had a kids birthday party before it and was gonna head straight to the game, i was shocked when it said Thursday.

Maybe that was your confusion?

I wish that was my confusion. I think I’m just an idiot

Not sure what you mean by "announced the last 5 rounds"... The entire season draw and schedule was locked in last December or whenever it was released. We've been scheduled to play Manly at Parra Stadium at 6pm in round 25 the whole time....

Anyone know how it would be decided who finishes 5th if we beat Manly by 11 points on Friday? An 11 point win for us would see both teams on same points and same points differential... Would it be decided who scored most points (which would be us) or the team that conceded least (which would be them)???

Can someone please explain the scrum time shot. I have heard it go off several times this weekend, but only one penalty given..the one Bronco's kicked the opening score against Parra. Why wouldn't a SCRUM penalty be one you weren't allowed to kick for goal..???

I think its not considered a scrum related peanlty, its a time wasting penalty

And i believe even if it goes off, its still at the referees discretion as to whether a penalty should be given
