Back in August the NRL came out and said they'd stuffed up by not deducting the 6 points from Cleary. They're now changing the tune:

Interestingly and off topic a little bit but Cleary was suspended for 2 games for his Covid breach and lying. Christian Welch did the same thing a few weeks ago by having a female visitor but Storm said he was remorseful etc blah blah but only suspended for 1 week..
Precedent set. Should have got 2 weeks as well. Fk the storm

It was careless but in normal speed unavoidable. Big difference to holding the bloke up, getting him into position and then putting pressure on or squashing the neck.

It was an impact one so more accidental than Scumerkinism plus I think Matto is a cleanskin so a “don’t do it again” I think is apt. If it were Nrown he’d be sitting out.

Regardless if he lied or not he breached Covid protocols by allowing a female to enter the bubble. I deem that worse. He knew the penalties and was only remorseful he was caught. NRL should have slapped him with another week.

Oh ok. I thought you and Barry were talking about Cleary lying to the NRL. I didn’t think Welch lied to the NRL. He owned up as soon as he was caught.

My point is that the cases aren't the same. Both got treated equivalently for the original 'offence' of breaching Covid protocols. Cleary then lied to the NRL about it and got suspended for that. I've seen no suggestion that Welch lied about it to anyone.

Not in dispute.
I was merely pointing out breaching covid protocols by Welch should've resulted in 2 weeks suspension. 1 from the storm and 1 from the NRL. The fact you have to isolate for 14 days after breaching should have resulted in 2 games..just saying ..anyways fk the storm
