Sualli would look good a fullback. Gutho could move to left centre where we could utilize his passing game .

Get it done MON. Although can you really see the Roosters letting him go?

Suaaliiiiiiiiiiii is ridiculous, there should be no way the Goosters can keep him. I agree with Rammy offer him the fullbacks job and sign him up long term. Guth can go to 6 or to hell for all I care. Get it done no excuses!!!

Agree totally, except the Gutho thing at 6. Gutho at centre or piss him off totally. There is no way you would move Brown out of 6 for Gutho.

Well to get suaalii we have to lose someone, Guth, Moses or Brown. Guth is easily the most replaceable but the hardest to get rid of. Hindy was right signing him up long term was a massive mistake.

If we got the right deal in place and convinced him to come why not? The Roosters can't offer him fullback at this point for starters and I hardly think they could offer him $1.2m minimum which is what would be needed at the very least. They have way to many high priced players on their books even for them. Also it was reported just last week, he wants to play at number 1, but will do what it take to help the team and learn to be a winger at this point.

This is the time that they are vulnerable, because the have Teddy, and Teddy has the mortgage on the number 1 for at least another 2-3 years. If he really wants to play there and we can convince him that we are a great club and we will give him the jersey, then all it comes down to is loyalty and money. Money generally wins out. It's not like they are his junior club and he has only been there what 2 years at the most? Also he is a Westy, and that helps, because he isn't a snob and doesn't look down on the Parra area like some others might do.

Robbo and Politis are the obvious two major barriers to signing him. But like I said, that is why I think we have the wrong man doing the negotiating and we need a golden tongued savvy individual in that position that knows how to handle elite players and their managers. Money and power brokers go hand in hand when you want consistent success. We have almost always had the money, but we have barely ever had the power brokers.

But Suaalii is doable. We just need to have a real good hot crack at it.

You’d need to pay Suaalii minimum $800k I reckon to get him

when you add

Moses $1m
Drown $1m
Paulo $750k
RCG $750k
Gutho $750k

I don’t think that many high cost players work for our cap.

unless we lose Moses or Drown it’s not viable

I think our recruitment for next year has slowed down because we are waiting on the Papali'i backflip decision.

That should have no baring on a raid on Suaalii. We get rid of Gutho if we sign Suaalii. It would make no sense to keep him and besides we would need to free up his funds to fit Suaalii in no doubt. The goo thing is that there would be plenty of takers for Gutho and close to what he is on our books. He is the kind of player that other clubs like NC could do with. They then could finally move Ponga to five eighth.

Anyway, Jeez, I wasn't intending on writing all that, It was meant to be a short 'we need to sign Suaalii' rant and yet, here we are. Hahaha...

I think that moving Gutho on for around $500-$600k is very doable. Most clubs would consider that a win. That would only leave him on our books for around $250K at most. Not the end of the world considering who we brought in instead don't you think?

Are you OK mate? You seem uneccessarily angry.
Lol no not at all. Thanks for asking though.
I don't take too kindly being called a f**kwit for no reason. Did I personally attack him. NO.
Name calling on the net or in person when not warranted is not justified nor should it be tolerated or accepted.
It's ok to have differing opinions but to be subjected to that filth is not acceptable.
Speaks volumes of the people who also liked it too.
Keyboard warriors...ahhh a very shallow and sad existence

Jeez we really need to try and sign Suaalii now if we want to get someone that is truly elite into our squad. The kid is available right now and can be bought if we gave him the money and had the right people to convince him we are the club for him.

We can also promise him the fullback position immediately and he can play with one of his best mates and be much closer to his family and friends.

Yeah sure the current coach is a bit of a handbrake but he will soon be just a memory so he won't have to worry about that.

He is also the type of player that if he eventually got to big and a little slower, that you can move to the centres and or backrow. He played those positions at junior level. He could turn into a Gene Miles type of player from that point of view.

Sadly we have MON as the negotiating turtle clown that would have no idea how to catch a big fish like him. Players like him need a lot of money, hype and love. You need to be able to sell the dream and wax lyrical to the point that the player is almost begging to be part of your club and wants to sign. Getting a new coach sooner rather then later would also help.

I think if we had Ciraldo as head coach he would be a better selling option then BA, who is known as a solid coach, but hardly someone that can take a super star players game to another level or two. Ciraldo has worked with a few of the most impressive young talent in the NRL and players talk. They would all know what Ciraldo brings to the table as far as coach-player connection, engagement and knowledge.

Boy do we need to make a few changes, just a few, but significant ones. I hope when we limp into the finals, if we make them, that we can go all the way, but my brain knows that we will be lucky to win two games in a row, if we play two teams that are on their game and come at us hard. Winning a 3rd or 4th one under that scenario is virtually impossible for this lot at present. We failed dismally to bring a quality forward into out 17 to relieve our two props and give them some rest during games and save them from burnout.

Now we have just the rotation that we all know just isn't up to it consistently. Sure we will put in a great showing for a game or two, but consistency starts up front and we just don't have the bench to keep the rage going and we don't have a superstar Suaalii type that can turn a game on its head in the blink of an eye that can demoralize our opponents. So everyone needs to work extra hard for the entire game.

So in conclusion, No matter how we go bar a GF appearance at the very least, BA has to be given his marching orders, a new coach brought in and Suaalii made a priority signing, hopefully by someone other then MON who in my book needs to go and the sooner the better. When we first brought him in, it was what was needed, to rein in the expenses that had gotten out of control.

But just as coaches, who can't progress the team much further, I feel MON has done his dash and now we need someone that isn't just looking for the bargain basement player. There seems to be a problem with him in doing deals in a timely manner and I don't think having a argumentative tight arse at the helm trying to do deals with superstar player managers is going to get you to far.

I believe that not many managers around the traps like doing deals with him. Sure that is a sign that he is a tough bastard to deal with, but that only works if you have something to sell that someone wants to buy. Parra is hardly that. There are other suitors out there that he needs to realise will go higher. Sure he obviously shouldn't overpay just because a more desperate club is willing to. But for the right player big bucks are what are needed. Or in a couple of instances with both Mahoney and Papalii he was way to slow out of the blocks and he then tried to low ball them and look how that turned out.

From where I am standing he wouldn't have a clue how to land a big fish like Suaalii and a big fish is what we need. Suaalii is a complete Moby Dick white whale. We need to be able to bring players like him to our club when we need them and they are available, just like the Roosters do or at least until we can start to produce them like we used to do.

Which, if we are really lucky and N. Brown actually knows what he is doing and can identify all our shortcomings and then we are smart enough to implement his recommendations and improve the quality of the people around the joint, then we may start to once again. But even if it all goes well and to plan, it won't start to bare fruit for at least 5-10 years from now.

So in the meantime we need to see if we can bring someone like Suaalii in that can have a major positive influence on our club both on and off the field. He would also make Parra a much more attractive place to come to for other players too. He would become the face of the club and a sponsors dream. Which of course, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, we should be able to find plenty of them for him to top up his salary. The new bigger, and better Parra CBD can only be a plus now a days, surely? I mean we are the only team in the area and even carry the name of the city ffs. Big businesses in Parra has us and no one else. We need to be able to take advantage of that.

Anyway, Jeez, I wasn't intending on writing all that, It was meant to be a short 'we need to sign Suaalii' rant and yet, here we are. Hahaha...
So you happy for JA to partner Drown in the halves?
