What the f**k has Nathan Brown done? And if he was that good why wouldn't he be at a wealthier club? There is no doubt in my mind that the best recruitment/retention staff are at Penrith/Brisbane/Melbourne/etc. Look how our junior 'development' (poaching) died in the arse when Cleal was poached by Manly. Then the merkins won two premierships.

Right, and it's only part of the story. The best thing about Papali'i was the recruitment, and the fact he was on unders for two years. Given his age he was probably always due to have a breakout year. He debuted at 18 years of age ffs. That's a sign of massive potential. If the Warriors wrote him off at 21 that's their problem.
I agree with all of that but Moses was out against Canberra so it was always going to be tough to win that one.

You're the one who was crowing about 'the one constant'. Brad Arthur wasn't here twenty years ago, neither was Mark O'Neill. But you were.
He's playing like a good player in a shit team. Where he made a lot of runs at isolated halfbacks when he played for Parra, he is now mostly making hit ups against set defensive lines. He is still ordinary in defence, but the Tigers aren't as good at hiding him as we were.
The pandemic hurt us financially because it hurt the PLC. Some privately owned clubs benefitted because so many rich people got richer during the pandemic.
