Talagi smokey for some time in 1.
Thought Talagi in top 30 but if you look at squad we have 29 players on official website (even TCT said we had 30). Was Talagi taken out to Dev squad so we can accommodate another high profile player? Is Talagi still with us?

I think Dylan Brown is too lazy a player to play fullback well. Not consistently involved in games yet, as he could or should be in his current role.

Maybe in 4 years time when he matures a bit more.

Firstly Gutherson isn't a centre. He has no real physical attributes to play there. He'd be similar level to Simmonson at that position. Where Guth could play is 5/8. If we made a change then that's it. But why couldn't we just do this in SOME attacking formats. Guth could switch to 5/8 for 25mins in attack etc.

In 2023 Guth was our best player. Early 2022 I felt he looked a bit cooked but he bounced back. Like Dylan Edwards he isn't explosive but he saves try's. Look at Walsh come the big games. Looked like a little boy.Made mistakes, can't tackle etc. His attacks brilliant but how many points does he cost his side? Easily 12 in the grand final.

I dont know if Gutho has the running threat to be truely effective at 5/8. He has the smarts and passing, but he is not like Drown n Moses who can step and take off in a flash.

I dunno what place Gutho has other than fullback, where he will still be good for another year or so, injuries permitting ..... he would be serviceable elsewhere, but far less effective

The King has another quality 3-4 years left in him barring any major injuries.

He is as fit as fiddle, competitive beast who doesnt give up on anything and doesn't rely on explosiveness that the likes of Tedesco had during there peak of the powers that he has now lost and made to look average.

Gutho can't lose anything he didn't have.

He is just a very good footballer, without any (onfield) weaknesses. A better question is why he wouldn’t be a good fullback. He is like a mix of Slater and Tedesco.
Yep. Fair enough question. Firstly, I see no point in moving Gutho. Secondly, I don't think Brown reads the game all that well (which would be my biggest criticism). I think his 'speed' is a bit overrated, but probably fast enough. I don't think he has the passing game of the good fullbacks. I don't really rate him as a 'play maker'. I also feel that his running game is overrated. I feel that overrated he is a bit one-dimensional. His defence, of course (including cover defence) would be well up to the task of playing fullback. He's not as fast or elusive as Slater, and not as powerful as Tedesco. He could probably play fullback fairly comfortably but I don't think he'd provide any x-factor there.

Gutherson is a borderline rep fullback, a good half and an ok centre (ignore him playing reps there).
Brown is a rep half, probably a good centre (potentially borderline rep) and probably an ok fullback.
It makes zero sense to swap them around without someone who’s definitely better than one of them. And if it’s moving both Brown & Gutho around, it’d have to be someone exceptionally great.
This continued talk of swapping them is dumb.

Agree it's not rocket science to make our attack a little less predictable. Although it might be rocket science for BA and the gang...

I'm happy with Gutherson at 1, and he'll be retired within 4 years anyway - which is when Brown might have matured enough to put in 80min efforts attack and defence in every game, and be able to be considered for another spine role.

But we've still a bit bare imo in terms of threats (and defence) at centre and wing.

At the end of 2025 when his contract is up I am unsure if I'd move on. I certainly wouldn't offer to much coin.

Besides fb, I reckon guth wpuldve made a great hooker.

Runs from dummy half, can kick, can tackle, can lead team around the park., has fitness

Our attack is almost as predictable as your lack of original thought.
Actually that’s unfair. We scored the 6th most points, so our attack is predictably better.

so BA knows what he's doing then ?

shame we can't defend

Talagi is in top 30, I believe the player who was said to be in top 30 but isn’t is Tevita Taumoepenu
Interestingly though, Talagi’s profile was removed from the official site, as will as the player list on NRL.com’s contracts page. Taumoepenu is still on both sites.

According to training reports, Talagi is very much still at the club, so there are most likely administrative shenanigans around the websites. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are run by the same third party company.
