If they're top 25 their entire contract counts under the cap whether they play every game or no games. The only exception seems to be retirement with a not-pre-existing injury.

There's definitely some risk but if he cops a long suspension he becomes terrible value, for this year at least.

If it didn't then sacking a player and signing them again would cost you more than not sacking them.

One of the many inconsistencies out of last years darkest day in sport was in some aspects it appears the cap is on cash basis. This would theoretically mean we could terminate Kenny with full payout and then re-sign him at lower value. Of course the cap realistically is on contract basis. Or more likely whatever the f**k Grinturd wants basis
