I heard tonight that Rabbits signed up for a further 5 years. Not necessarily all as the game caller but f**k me, it never ends.

You'll find that Ch9 WWS have realized that their digital profile is poor. So recently Gus started a podcast. Writes a column exclusive for their website (dropped his Sunday paper gig) etc. So when Rabs says he has re-signed its more about having his name attched to the brand after he feels that he can't travel anymore hence call games.

He'd probably settle for hand shake, gold watch and a voucher for a 2 week stay at one of the most exclusive retirement village in the hills district ... but no!! The station that subjected us with the other f**kwit taxi driver and 30 years of Hey Hey it's Saturday have decided to extend his contract... f**king knobs

Don't worry Stags. I'm gonna start my own radio station, where I don't hire presenters/announcers, but instead just a put a text-to-speech converter on this thread. For the late night shift I put the converter on old versions of the thread (starting from the first). Sundays will feature excerpts from the stranger little threads (ex. those started by Casper). People can pay to their own voice of choice (except Pou, as I've already allocated the voice of Apu from The Simpsons).

They also signed tony Adams "the Mole" and David Middleton this week for their digital arm.

Yes I saw that. Originally Mole was getting a gig with the NRL website but Ch9 must have come over the top.

Interesting moves afoot as you probably saw that Wackos Whispers (twitter account) was signed by the Fox to give team updated bewteen Tuesday and game day.

Today on the news they are saying that the gov has scrapped free to air broadcast fees so that they can compete with international companies who stream content.

But how does Rabs name increase their profile?
Having a senile old bludger associated with your product ceases to be a good thing eventually?

Compare ch9 cricket commentary with ch10 bbl coverage. 10 seem to want to take the game forward while 9 look to the past for assurance.

5 years for Rabs when he is already 5 years past it. Wow.

Your opinion aside, I'm sure that along with Sterlo, Rabs would be the most trusted NRL merkin in the industry.

Anywho, continuing the digital theme, the NRL streamed the U20s test last night free on twitter and their site.

"Is that your best price"????

That's all I used to get in retail.

Don't miss it at all.

It is the stupidest question ever. Especially when it is from people that work in retail themselves. I hear it often from customers and then see them at the local service station or in Coles and Woolies. I feel like asking them the same question.

Gee, your a bit steep in the Tim Tams. Surely you can do a bit better on that?

I can get that fuel cheaper online in America. Surely you can knock a bit off.

The nrl wanted the mole but stuffed it around and took to long to get the contract details sorted so 9 made mole (tony Adams) a offer and he took it straight away and started straight away. Mole needs a wage

I always tell them when they ask apfor a discount or a better price that I'll give them te same answer that my land lord gave me when I asked him for a discount on the rent or the energy supplier when I asked them could I have 20% off. They normally just pay the ticketed price no questions asked then.

I have 2 tactics when I'm quoting jobs with them.
First is to work out how much it is then add 20%. By the time we have bartered I am doing the job for 5% more. If there is no arguement I usually give a discount when I am finished if everything has gone well.
Second is say the quotation is $1750.00. They go will you do it for $1500.00. I go the job will now cost $2000.00. When they are shocked and go why? I go well you wanted to take $250.00 off me and now your offended that I want to take $250.00 off you, I have given you my best price first time every time. The look on their face is priceless. I use this tactic for jobs I really dont want to do.

I thought the NRL took over RLW so they got ownership of the "the mole". It was up to the NRL to decide what would happen to "the mole".

Your opinion aside, does Rabs even watch games he doesn't call?

He may or may not be trusted (i am yet to meet someone who thinks he is value over the last few years), but does he know what he is talking about?

Cronulla Sharks Chairman Damian Keogh forced to stand down over drug arrest
Phil Rothfield, The Daily Telegraph
CRONULLA chairman Damian Keogh has been forced to stand down from his role at the Sharks.

The Daily Telegraph understands Keogh handed in his resignation this morning over an incident on Friday night.

The NRL integrity unit has been informed.

The Sharks will release a statement later today to confirm Keogh has stepped down.

The Hoyts CEO has been largely credited for lifting the Sharks from near bankruptcy to win last year’s premiership.

When contacted this morning, Keogh declined to comment for legal reasons.
