Surely the only way any team gets Brandon Smith is if he is told he will be starting hooker.

Staggs would be nice but I reckon we’d more likely end up with David Stagg

yeah can’t see bmith coming for a bench spot, especially as Cmith is rumoured to be retiring now.

So they expected a big change in all of this over last 9mths?
I call bullshit and he will be here next season.
You're the motherf**ker always going on about sports science. One element of sports science is knowing how people respond to strength and conditioning training at various ages and levels of previous exposure. That might've been Schneider's first full pre-season, and his body might not have responded with the desired gains. A lot of players fail to become first graders because of attitude, and we often hear about this because it's something we feel we can blame the player for. But plenty of them (I would say most) don't make it for genetic reasons. They just don't have what it takes. But we don't usually hear about this because it's considered cruel to shitcan a kid for being naturally weak and slow, despite a great attitude. Incidentally, this is why Arthur's didn't have a first grade career.

I’ve heard a few of u mention how well Gennings went, which I fully agree with, and think he should start over Sivo next year, people are also saying he improved playing with the Warriors for a month? yet he apparently he was dogshit in our colours, it appears the Warriors have gotten more out of George in 4 weeks than our coaching team could in 2-3 years? Please correct if I’m wrong.

its simple
When Schneider signed his last contract he was signed until he was 20. Parra do that with most young guys as it takes them to the end of junior footy. A component of that contract included full time training with the NRL squad this year. Now since he's not on $1M there is no reason to move him on if it doesn't work out. Unfortunately for him covid has meant that he has not played against men. Reed is signed for the next few years. Injuries and covid means Parra have decided that its probably best to go another direction and not invest more time in him

He'll drop a couple of balls and everyone will be saying he's shit again.

Does anyone think that Drown could not play on the right side? Because from what I can see we're more likely to be able to replace Moses with a player who would predominantly play on the left side

I don't subscribe to the left and right theory.
A good half should be able to play anywhere. Its all about game management. With the hooker organising where you want your forwards to run to and setting your backs up for the shift.
The good halves have no problem popping up wherever they see the need to. I think we started to see more of it from Moses but the fact he had FA try assists is a very telling stat....Johns or no Johns assisting, his whole game management needs a reset and needs to learn how to break down opposing teams...
If its working towards working one player over, noticing a player may be injured, fullback out of position, kicking the ball into touch to give his team a breather and most of all being patient.
Moses has talent and plenty of it. This time last year would've said Moses and Cleary on par. Unfortunately there is a big divide between the 2 now. Moses could no worse than putting on 5-6 kgs. This will also give him more confidence in his own body. Has certainly worked for Nathan.
I hope that Moses goes to another level. If we are to win a premiership he has to consistently good. I dare say his calf injury resulted in his dip in form and confidence. Maybe he was rushed back too quickly..never know but Moses and Brown will be even better together next yr

I've never considered Gennings a bad player. He's solid. Some merkins see one bad game and remember it forever.

Moses was awesome last year and this year he wasn't. What changed? The player was the same and the coach was the same. We know he got injured. The biggest difference on the field was this year his first option was always to get Matterson early ball, whereas last year he often went to the line with Gutherson out the back.

I read in 20s was a better gooker then Schneider who stepped up when Schneider was injured.
Keep in mind Fitler picked Kyle in his emerging blues squad so he was rated high by many.
Some kids just don't make it.

He seemed to be able to get repeat sets. But I'd need a stat. Get to it merkin

So apart from his injury, do you think that change was the coaches or his decision?

na you are wrong......he did pretty good in 2018 for us, when he was fairly inexperienced ( still is). And he was in our top 13 round 1 2019 over Sivo until he was injured in the trials (BA has said this).......

He's been poor and gone MIA during Finals matches when it mattered in the past. That hasn't, nor will it, change.

We're at a point now where downhill skiers like Moses aren't going to do the job when needed, irrespective of what they're capable of against weaker opposition and when there is no pressure to do so.
