"It’s the latest example of how Parramatta’s player options in contracts have come back to bite the club.

Both the Talagi’s had options in their contracts but informed the club earlier this year they intended to test the market."

So we gave a 16 year old a Player option.

Did we give him a free schooner a beer on tap as well while we did it fmd.
A player option is virtually zero cost. If you get injured in your off contract year you don’t have to worry about losing a year of your career. It only costs the club if the option is activated.

Or why they don't want to spend years more in reserve grade while our highly paid first graders continue their careers.
This is the thing. We couldn’t fit Sanders into the team. We could fit Talagi in at centre (with Lomax on the wing) but he wants to play in the spine and get paid accordingly. Sure we could’ve put him at fullback but we are already paying Gutherson as a fullback. Moving him to centre doesn’t change that. How much can we afford to pay a second fullback with one already on the books?

The only merkin who’s leaving that we definitely could’ve used next year is Matt Arthur. There would be money for an upgrade, since Lussick and Hands would be cheap. In any case, Arthur was already contracted for next year.

I'll make the pair find there own way back to Australia.

Leave them in Auckland on Friday night.
Don't even take them..no point in investing any further in them. Play them in Flegg or Ron Massey and Go get..
Promote two blokes who have contracts for 25/26 and give them the opportunity.

Some of you blokes need to harden the fk up, if you’re joining me in the Ryles Revolution!

Fk Blaize… said it weeks and weeks ago, not particularly bothered if he leaves. It’s one less Isaac Moses issue to deal with and we made him a more than reasonable offer.

The kid can’t defend and isn’t lightning quick. Can certainly sniff out a try.

The bottom line is, if they don’t want to be here, we don’t fking want them here!
I actually think when the dust settles we will come out looking alright for next yr.
Some of these sooks have thrown the toys out of the cot.
Here's your dummy, your bib and there's the exit...beat it u ungrateful grubs

We all want Ryles to succeed

He will Be hamstrung by a lack of cap space and an aging roster, the club will have a battle to retain membership level if they are unable to make moves to strengthen a thin and lacklustre backline in particular.
Two of our backline were in the winning Origin team ffs. Dylan Brown is an absolute gun and Penisini is a talent. Sivo is one of the best try scorers in the NRL.

Look at Sanders, is he going to a better situation??? You think he just walking in a takes a spot over strange or fogarty??? No chance.
He could stay in Sydney and be a backup at any NRL club. Why would he go to Canberra for anything other than a top 17 spot?

It’s bad if it’s Lane on $600k.
If an option is a no brainer then it was never really an option was it? No club would offer an over 30 player a PO or MO for whatever he's worth at his peak. The intent is that it protects the player if he's crippled (e.g. Hodgson) and then you can medically retire him.
It’s shit if Blaize doesn’t take it on $150k.
You're dreaming if you think he was willing to sign a multi year contract for minimum salary. Taking yourself out of the market isn't the way to get top dollar. Bidding wars are how you maximise your earning potential.

If as suggested Moses has option in his favour, despite his loyalty, whose to say that won’t be invoked for a move. Oh, but all options are good according to our resident expert.
THEY DON'T INVOKE THE OPTION TO MOVE FFS! The option is to stay. If they don't take up the option they are just off contract. How f**ken dumb are you merkins

On Blaize I don't think he was ever comfortable with playing fullback and has always wanted to play 5/8.

Was never going to jump Brown
He never seemed to play fullback in the juniors. He was a 6 until he came back into SG Ball halfway through the year and Sanders/Lynn already had a combination.
