What happened ? Who is selfish ?
Have you got amnesia

In 2021 Paul Vaughan for the 2nd year in a row ignored covid bubble protocols and basically destroyed the Dragons season. They were sitting in 7th spot with 8 games to go and didn't win a game after he hosted a BBQ got sacked and another 10 blokes got suspended.

They didnt win another game that season

Josh Addo Carr goes out 1 week before a semi final and decides to roll the dice on the coke gets caught and rubbed out for a final they ended up losing.

Like how selfish can you get from those two incidents that let the whole club down and both have form for being peanuts.

I think Vaughan would have looked good in Ron Massey Cup.

Perhaps he could have mentored Momoisea and showed him how to cook a BBQ.

He was the best prop in Super League in 2023, and averaged more than 100m and 2 line breaks per game in 2024. He's not past it....injuries (and suspensions...he's a bit of f**khead) would be more the worry.

IF our club has a gap in experience in the top 30, then it might be being looked at. What do you think our NSW Cup pack + bench will look like in 2025 ?
It’s all about leg speed, quick PTB’s and working hard off the ball. Does Vaughan bring any of this??
You are still harping on about this super league forward being a marquee forward signing, but really he'd be a stability signing down at #28 in the depths to mentor the Cup players. Maybe he might be needed in FG or maybe not.

Why did Manly sign Siua Taukei'aho ? The merkin hasn't pulled on a jumper since mid 23.

"Siua is a two-time premiership winner and international representative, he brings significant leadership experience to the team," said Manly coach Anthony Seibold.

Just saying - clubs do it and Many and not short of decent forwards just like us.

It certainly doesn't make a lot of sense to be talking about changing the club culture and then to start courting Addo Carr or Vaughan....

What in the f**k are you talking about?? I never mentioned marquee forward once.

I mentioned his age, size and doubted he has the leg speed in the middle that JR is looking for. The rest is pure fantasy dribble on your part.

And as @King-Gutho94 riightfully pointed out he is a selfish dickhead to boot. Great mentor for the younger forwards. You’ve lost this one yet again move on back to virtue signaling in the political thread and leave the footy talk to the adults.

Well that escalated quickly.

Well as usual you refuse to listen to opposite points of view and then decided to make up BS to try and suit your BS argument. So I think it was a more than fair response.
Mate, if you think that having cheap experience in the team (not necessarily Vaughan) is a bad thing. Then fine. It's not a BS argument when it is actually practiced by lots of other clubs.

It wasn't me that started talking about mobility in first grade as a reason why we don't need experience in the club.

FMD you have anger issues.

Sometimes clubs need to fill a vacuum of experience with an older player.

A bit like when Melbourne signed this guy at age 33.

They also signed Nate Myles as a very old man. Experience isn’t a bad thing to have in your squad.

Ok genius you tell us what Vaughan offers our club , he hasn’t played in the NRL since 2021. After he was sacked and helped torpedo his clubs season. He’s never won anything so what leadership experience does he provide?? Williams was the exact signing we needed not a serial dickhead who hasn’t play in the NRL in almost 4 years and a body shape that doesn’t suit the game anymore.

I have been talking all morning about the merits of having experience in a squad. I asked you about the cup squad and start talking about mobility of modern forwards. Slow down and read what I post. I am not saying we need just Vaughan. I said that IF Ryles thinks we need a knucklehead to train with NSW Cup and mentor Pryke etc then I get it. I get it because plenty of clubs have found value in it before us.

I’m sure if Ryles believes we need more experience he will sign some, but atm he seems to be investing in youth. The roster needed a make over, we needed speed on out wide and speed through the middle plus hooker. Which is what he has been working on, I never said we shouldn’t invest in an old experienced hard head and I never said other clubs don’t. But after Bea here for 11 years the last thing we needed was another experienced forward with too many miles on the clock.

I have said it before - you really do bring out the best of people on here.

Has to be a deliberate tactic.

As someone else mentioned if Paulo, Matto, Lano, Offo, even Carto don’t bring enough experience already then adding another big old prop isn’t going to fix that. If they don’t we’d be better off moving them on and paying for the experience coupled with quality
