PVL f**k me dead leave it alone. He’s like a 4 year old boy who can’t stop fiddling with his dick

The Kickoff returns concussions have been overblown in my view.

How many kickoffs are there per game to every concussion across the seasons.

Most of the concussions that are happening from kick offs are happening in the first play of the game when adrenaline is pumping from both sides and a concussed player stands out like dog-balls because your automatically down to 16 from the get go.

Look at how many tries are scored per week and kick offs and how many kick-off returns end up in a concussion. There were 1742 tries scored for the year throw in 213 games where there a 2 kick-offs automatically per game.
Maybe take away what 40 or 50 tries which may have been scored on HT/FT.

That's around 2100 kickoffs for how many concussions from these kick off returns like 20-30 max.

It would be under 2%

I don’t want him either. He is an eternal dickhead. I’m happy to blood one of our juniors for a permanent wing spot before this dope.
I agree. They might not have the experience or high profile but currently do not have dick headness about them. Arthur Miller-Stephen or Ethyn Martin or even Joash Papalii are all quick and imo able to do the job that JAC could do but at much less cost.

Right.
So you agree that speed is not the most important thing when signing a hooker.

Never said it was. But our roster needs more then just Moses and one trick Dylbags to get us back into the top 4. We don't have a great front row rotation anymore, so if our dummy half is a plodder it will be even more obvious that once we start to tire and our bench comes on how weak and lack of potency our ruck go forward is.

Unless some of these new signings or juniors can really step up and lead the way. At the moment there are way to many ifs, buts and maybes for us to not try and get as much quality in this roster as possible.

Sure you can have a plodder/defensive hooker in the team and be very successful like the Panthers, but we are far from the well oiled and drilled Panthers for anyone to suggest we can rely on a plodder in that position and our team will be fine with that. Add in one or two unforeseen injuries and we will be cactus.

Boy I would feel a lot better about our 2025 season if we could snare May or someone of similar quality to add to our up front depth. At the moment we may have quantity in that position but in reality I don't think we have to much quality. There is a difference.

If there were 10 concussions from kickoffs (which I don't think there were this year, most probably less) it is 0.4% of kickoffs resulting in a concussion.

There are more concussions from players attempting tackles than there are from kickoffs.

At the moment all we can really do is wait until we see how next season progresses to find out what we have and what we need.

We have a new coaching staff and a different look team already. The hooker we already have may thrive in this new system, we don't know. The young props coming through might turn out to be very good, we don't know. Iongi may turn out to be a superstar, we don't know.

The opposite of all these things may happen as well. We just don't know. We are in a period of uncertainty at the moment. Ryles may be a terrible coach. Or he could be great. Or he could be just average (which is the most likely scenario).

All I feel is excitement about 2025 because of this uncertainty. We could be great. Chances are we won't but at least I'm not certain that we will be shit. I believe the club is doing what they can for next season with what they have and are gearing up for a big 2026. I'm going to try and enjoy the ride.

Talking about rule changes that players who are suspended can serve part of their suspension for games like Pacific Championship or Indigenous game is BS. Suspensions for NRL games should only apply to NRL games. There is no way to tell if the suspended player would even be picked for these other games so how could they then say that, as in dick head Nelson from Storm, he has his suspension reduced by 3 games because NZ played those games in PC.

Who on here would even think Vaughan was a target by us, seriously? A beat up story by his agent or simply a BS story. Best to finish his career in SL where they might still be interested.
He’s under George Mimis I think, so really the only way we’d be remotely interested is if he shared same agent with Brailey or JAC.
Either way Vaughan isn’t good enough to overlook his previous indiscretions regardless of whether he’s “better” or not.
JAC is borderline IMO too

Plus he is a Pom.

Our track record with English players in my lifetime is horrendous.

Chris Thorman, Lee Mossop & Josh Hodgson are the only 3 to play FG.

Gareth Hock didnt show up & Ben Crooks couldnt get a game.

Hodgson was the best of the lot when it comes to contributions.
I thought Mossop when he was on field was pretty good

A weak Competition that Parra couldn’t get near winning. Good one. You can only play who’s in front of you.

Yeah and we played a decent team in the Panthers that showed up our pea heart one in the GF. We and every other team bar the Broncos in 2023 were not the highest quality teams. The Broncos too this last season dropped down to be weak also and had the extra burden of having a dud coach that couldn't get them to fire once they had adversities come their way. The comp is very weak over all. The Panthers last year and before were strong. This year and moving forward they too are getting weaker, but the comp is still weaker then their decent but not great roster.

Don't confuse this with the quality of the comp as a spectacle. The players today are so fit and well trained. Add to that the 6 again has opened it up and allows for the game to be played at a high octane level and most teams are of close enough or equal quality, bar the Panthers and therefore the show is on and entertaining. But there is a lack of depth in the halves both 5/8ths and halfbacks and it shows.

No other team is settled enough and has the quality in the spine to compete at the moment with the Panthers and I can't see that changing anytime soon.

The Storm definitely have the spine to compete with the Panthers.
Unfortunately for them they just choked on the big day this year. Munster and Hughes saved their worst for last.

Would it be related to the severity of concussions as a result from Kick offs?

Before your time there was a Dean Sampson and Vince Fawcett who played a handful of games back in 95.........highlight being Fawcett scoring a double (if memory serves) in a massive upset vs the doggies....David Woods blitzed them that night, good times!
