Think it’s been satisfactory so far , so 6/10.

There now needs to be a serious move on close to elite signings given the supposed amount of cap we have available to fill the gaps and roster numbers. The blame is apportioned mostly to R&R to get those things done, hopefully Ryles can provide good communication with both players managers and players as a start.

Do you think it is realistic to expect Top 17 signings at this late stage for our 2025 squad ? There is not much about. Maybe a player like Terrell May or Ben Hunt still on the open market might trigger a release, but that's about it.

He had a great year in 2022. 2023 and this year were abysmal in comparison. He looked ok through the middle but still lacked speed which if we are using that as a guide was what the club was looking to recruit which is why him staying makes little sense. Sure we need to have a variety of players but letting go Sivo and keeping Lane seems at odds with what they are doing....

No it isn't.

Surely what is needed was part of the conversation between the coach and recruitment, understand that it’s late etc, but big clubs get things done. Overall recruitment has been underwhelming for a few years, so expectations are low but there is still a need to add decent players or 2025 will see us sit in the bottle half of the table again

Given we have let go 3 top 17 players since the final round of the season, it isn't unreasonable to expect 1 top 17 signing at this point and beyond. They may not be direct replacements for Reg and Gutho as those positions have been filled but I expect us to replace Sivo with someone at least on similar salary.

I asked you if you think it's realistic. I think we all hope that we sign some top guns, but the odds are low unless ^^ players suddenly need to be released to fit in others. Don't get your hopes up.

Hopes up with a recruitment team that has been in place for 6/7 years, not likely. Want them to succeed but have pretty low expectations so can always be surprised..

As a former second rower, Lane is fairly mobile for a middle forward. Much like Matterson.

If he is moving to the middle then yes, he is mobile in that regard. Still based on performances over the past two years and the "staleness" of the squad IMO he would have been one of the first to move on. He was not that long ago on the way out.
