I don't hate Doueihi as a utility at the right price. Just needs some luck with injuries.

The fact you’re using the term ‘incompetent’ shows you don’t understand, since you see the world of work as a binary of competent or incompetent. The fact is it is a continuum from least competent to most competent.

That’s because ‘wrong’ is also not an appropriate term to discuss probabilistic decision making such as risk management. It is possible to assess risk perfectly and still get a poor outcome. But even this reveals something you obviously don’t grasp: while it is possible to judge probability (e.g. for risk) extremely well, you’ll never actually know how well you judged it. The outcome certainly doesn’t prove it, since you can make a good decision and still be unlucky, or you can make a poor decision and have dumb luck save your arse.

And if the person with the most facts can’t know how well they judged, how could an outsider have any idea? The information to measure these judgements can only come over very large samples and long time spans.

Well I obviously don’t consider myself an internet deadshit and I still admit I have no idea about these things. And if I have no idea then the rest of you idiots definitely don’t.

That’s because determining when someone has no idea about something can occur very quickly when you have a chance to talk candidly with them, as we do here. Basing it off the performance of their NRL club takes a lot more time and information.
If you want to play semantics the continuum would be very incompetent to very competent. Your assertion about it starting at “least competent” is wrong. Do you really think people don’t get fired for their jobs for being incompetent?

You absolutely can make the wrong decision. Are you saying someone can’t have sufficient information and just use poor judgment in their decision making? There’s a reason why CEOs can sacked when companies perform well. When Apple was in trouble do you think Steve Jobs just got lucky compared to his predecessor or was he demonstrably a better decision maker?

You can judge whether a good decision was made based on outcome and results. Everyone-both insiders and outsiders has demonstrable data to make that call.

You and I are both internet deadshits mate. If you say nobody has a right to have an opinion because we aren’t part of the organisation then neither do you. You’re doing the exact thing you’re criticising people for. Just in the opposite direction.

Agreed but even without bosses, they are limited by resourcing.

I am myself making two different points. One of them is the same point T.Squint is making. One isn’t.

This is what I’m saying as well, but you’ve ignored it and fixated on the fact I’ve called you a dumdum.

No I’m saying you don’t have the information (not the education) to make this judgement. The fact you don’t know this is due to lack of education. It’s a subtle difference ffs!

Agreed
The idea that we can’t have an opinion on something because we have insufficient information and then to go ahead and defend the organisation with the same lack of information is rather contradictory.

I’m not fixated on you calling anyone a dumdum. I’m confident enough in my own ability to think critically that I have the self awareness to say what I can and can’t know. I’m just calling out the double standard in saying you can’t criticise anyone due to lack of information and then refusing to question anything despite the same lack of information. It’s absolutely hypocritical. You should be consistent with your own rhetoric. If you’re going to refute people’s criticism you need to do it by refuting what they’re saying (which you admittedly do most of the time. That’s why I think your statement dismissing even legitimate concerns is unwarranted). Saying but you aren’t educated enough without addressing what they’re actually saying is really lazy.
