Infighting amongst high profile Broncos stakeholders is having a negative impact on the club. Those big names should be a positive resource but they are a negative. There might be plenty of scapegoats but the question is who is able to fix it?

Who do you mean by ‘you’ in this truism? The club? Who is the club? Is it just the sum of its dumb fans and self interested high level stakeholders? Can a club just hire a better CEO or coach to overcome all this bullshit? You need to examine your assumptions here. You’re like the typical whinger who is all problem, no solution.

But people on here could never admit the club makes any mistakes so easier to go “We don’t have Da Resources or money to compete against Da bigger clubs”

I don’t think Ryles has anything to do with us suddenly spending more money. We also have a stack of full time staff running the pathways for the first time ever. The increased spending is no doubt related to the end of our contribution to building the $50M facility in Kellyville.
The Bronco’s stake holders have been infighting since 2006??? It must be just a coincidence that after we lose the coach who would been intimidated by the ball boy that we are now spending money on backs coaches and are finally spending money in our pathways. We might finally be a powerhouse?? It would be very exciting!!

He is a utility, as per the official announcement.
Cut the BS out we all know the reason he was playing in a different position in reggies and it had SFA to do with utility value.

The now former coach sure as shit didn't rate his ultilty value when Bailey Simmonson got knocked out in the first min against Penrith in round 2 and we had to play Kelma Tulaigi in the centres while Hands sat on the bench for 77 mins.

Has your selective memory forgotten about that game.

Resources is a cop out and always will be.

As hiney says look at the Broncos richest club in the game but now have people in charge in important positions that have NFI what Rugby League success looks like.
How did that happen? Just bad luck or is their governance structure fundamentally flawed? How can such shit people end up in charge of such a rich organisation?
Its business & football smarts is where we have been lacking for a long time.

We may be more business savvy now it’s getting the footy smarts & business side of things up to a level where both can be linked together to make us a genuine force.
Just coincidence that we had to improve the business side of the club before being able to spend more on the football side of things? You don’t think there might be some cause and effect at work?
Matt Cameron turning Penrith into a juggernaut after being Brian Smith right hand man for a long period is the biggest insult you can cop as a Parramatta fan.
This is the Matt Cameron who brought Phil Gould to the club, with his access to Australia’s wealthiest rugby league fan? Or was it the other way around, with Gould hiring Cameron?
We have money we just haven't had the right people in charge to utilize it properly weather its through petty politics or bad decisions that have set in motion a chain of events that have been disastrous.
Every club has money. They just don’t all have the same amount. Penrith had their Centre of Excellence eight years ago ffs. Ours still isn’t finished.
Parramatta CBD is the 2nd biggest business district in NSW with high end business everywhere. So to say resources ain't readily available compared to the Raiders & Sharks is a cop out.
Awesome that no other clubs are allowed to compete for business in Parramatta. Just like how they’re not allowed to recruit juniors from our district. How good being a one team town!
When it comes to the football department well it’s been quite obvious and done to death on here for ages we have lacked genuine football IQ and footy smarts in coaching, recruitment & personnel for ages.

Ryles coming in and turning the ship around will be vindication for a lot of people on here that have been calling for change for a couple of years now and there vindication will be justified.
Ryles and his massive staff will be a vindication of increased spending, not the cause of it. And when we eventually have a poor season under Ryles I look forward to every merkin claiming vindication of whatever pet issues they have with him. “He sounds like a bogan!” “His tactics are shit!” “He gave jobs to all his mates from St George!”

You know that’s what’s going to happen. I told you so.

They weren't so much better than us though. I've always been able to cop 09 and even 22 but 2001 was a massive choke, I don't think anyone can deny that. At worst it could have been one of the best GF's between 2 evenly matched teams but that first half....fmd.
Agreed. We were the best team all year in 2001. Meanwhile our 2009 and 2022 opponents were demonstrably better than us. Just compare the points differential after 24 rounds.

Sure we had a team that played exceptionally well that year.

But go back and have a look at the two grand final teams from 2001. We had a bunch of talented kids. Newcastle had a bunch of experienced representative players.

We may have had the better year in the regular season, but that Knights squad was a better team than ours in the long run.
And this is true. We were the better team, but they were better on paper, which is what mattered on the day. We dominated the regular season due to Smith’s tactical brilliance. Unfortunately on the day Newcastle negated that by laying all over us and daring the ref to ruin the spectacle with penalties. Their superior class shone through on the back of that.

interesting take on our moves on contracts and recruitment,
It is an interesting take, and particularly a very melodramatic, media-driven take on a fairly normal contract clause in the NRL.
understandably Pou will circularly argue it’s a good problem and the R&R team did them for a very good reason.
Why else would the R&R team agree to them? More to the point, why don’t all our players have them? If you can’t answer these questions your theories aren’t worth much even if you got them from such quality sources as zero tackle dot com.
There are reportedly moves to see if 5hey can be removed for the good of the club go8ng forward, doesn’t seem they were favourable to the club from the get go.
They are not supposed to be favourable to the club, they are supposed to be favourable to the player. No different to paying the player more money. It suits the player not the club. What suits the club is getting the player to sign as cheaply as possible. One way to do that is to offer other incentives instead, including player options.
Hopefully we come out the other side without getting bitten in the rear
Melodrama!!! Why the f**k wouldn’t we come out the other side? We just had our worst season since 2018, without a single PO coming due. I’ll bet you $100 we go better in the years these POs are activated than we did this year. They are a non factor, intended to protect the player in the event of injury or loss of form. They are not intended to cripple the club, which is why there’s so few of them.

Can we get Scott Pryde the author of this article to have a catchup with Pou.

So Pou can educate Scott on the main reason we use POs and what it means.

Clearly there is a massive gap of education that is missing from what Pou thinks to what 90% of the Rugby League following people think when it comes to the positives & negatives are POs.
Maybe Scott Pryde from nuffies.com can have a word with the people who get paid to actually make these decisions.

We already know the negatives for the club with player options. We've been through all this already.

The choice is to either include the options or not sign the player. Or sign them for more money, meaning we sign worse players elsewhere in the team.

Which would you rather?
It’s not rocket science. Nothing is free, including contract options.
