I think many of us (me included) like the 'direction' of the recruitment currently. But to be fair we've got a lot of untested talents coming in. If they all flop we'll be squealing like piggies about how bad this recruitment has been!!

The Adam Dykes signing was a great one. He’d just won five-eighth of the year. We had no idea he’d turn to shit.

Foran/Moses would have been an awesome combo.

Though it would have cost half the salary cap though at the time.

But losing Foran meant we got Moses 12 months later.

Probably worked out for all parties and the Dogs paid Foran similar money for 3 years with worse results.

Should have spent less time watching taped Sharks games and more time training. In all fairness he didn’t have a very good team around him during his time here so I think it’s a bit unfair to pin it entirely on him. Foran played in a pretty decent team.

Brian Smith struggled to settle on a halfback and halves during his whole time here tbf.

How many halfbacks despite the success we had under him did we churn through. Maybe the way Brian wanted the halfback to play didn't really find anyone that suited or gelled with Brian for a consistent period.

Brian for all his tactical nous man management skills have to be questioned. And maybe burnt a lot of bridges/confidence of the playmakers.

He was neutered by the post-2001 ruck change that slowed the game down. Brad Drew was similarly affected.
