Rumours and Stuff

I've come up with a theory that once a political party has been in power for 10 years they become stale and out of ideas. Maybe this 10 year barrier also applies to coaches? Any stats to support this? Bellamy obviously the outlier but maybe reinvents himself every few years- but also came up a new dirty tactic every few years now banned by NRL.
Jack Gibson reckoned 3 years was his limit. But there may have been inbuilt assumptions to that view that no longer apply im the modern game, like being able to reinvent a roster quickly, employ more assistants, and so on.

Agree, I appreciate the job they do but there’s no reason you can’t compare and give honest assessments.
By way of comparison, they’ve had former Eel and rugby defense coach John Muggleton on their live post match broadcasts.
JM didn’t hold back in highlighting the coaching deficiencies of our poor, and seemingly perpetually unaddressed, right edge defense.
If you can have guests give honest assessments, why not them as well.
I reckon the best one with Muggo was when we smashed Canberra in the semi final.

And he goes at the end on the podcast I am going home to watch that dickhead Ricky's press conference to see what his excuse he will come up with. Because the defeat is sure as shit won't be down to Ricky's shit coaching.

Whilst this has all been riveting

I would like to get some opinions

where do you think IONGHI will make a big impact for us this coming season
1. Kick return metres
2. Getting us on the front foot on kick returns
3. Middle of the field as support player or running lines
4. Red zone with his speed and running lines as either a threat to unleash brown or take the ball and hit the gap in the line or as link man
5. Will his defence matter given we can assume he won’t be a gutho or his speed will compensate in defence

or anything else you would like to add
Great job bringing the chat back to interesting stuff. I think he is going to be electric and just inject a lot of unpredictability into our attack. I think like any rookie he is going to make plenty of mistakes but I hope he is strong enough to brush it off and move on. I am simply hoping he brings great support play and SPEED!

This better be our jersey for next year
Yep i agree thats the Jersey design i want to see us wear why change it every year.

I guess its down to $$$ & marketing to sell more jerseys by mixing it up.

I imagine if this is our heritage strip for 2025 we will wear it in Round 3 against the Bulldogs at Commbank since we did beat them in the 1986 Grand Final.

This. I'm excited !

PS F**k me drunk I hate the off season. Merkins arguing about the same shit every day for 120 days. By my calculations we are 1 month away from the first trial. Just hurry up.

PPS Who TF is this Eki Clark merkin. Do we need him ?

I

Ive seen Ionghi get rundown as well. Explosive speed but not high end speed. In watching other peoples highlights Ive seen Blaize get burned by speed time after time. Blaize at fullback would have been a disaster. Ionghi is a way better option. We definitely won that exchange.
Depends on what the team needs I guess, time will tell. Penrith wanted Blaize, Parra wanted a Fullback we didn’t want to get rid of but couldn’t retain due to strength in that position.

I’ll say it once more, we are so lucky to have a top notch HOF, guess we see how good he is when this is open for negotiation..

Guess patting yourself on the back announcing.a long term deal that isn’t really long term has come back to bite .

Pou will obviously interpret this differently 🤔

Think it's only 50/50 he will move on, but this is not a good time to bring disruption to a new season

Please f**king go!
Why? He's only ever played under 1 coach in BA. He's yet to hit his peak.
I wouldn't be letting him go before tapping the likes of Lane, Lussick and even Matto.
Always chasing to stop a try.
Still very young.
Very quick.
Top defender.
Suited to the left.
Breaks the line often.
His best footy is ahead of him.
I know u completely dislike him but a new coach, tactics, ideas etc may be exactly what's required.
This all may be a moot point if he's already signed for the Roosters
