There is one side who want to believe that his life decisions were based on our former coach, rather his family being indecisive about what state they want to live in / or if that decisions is influenced or flipped when he was offered a senior NRL role vs a junior role.

They also have 3 reserve grade sides. No problems with depth there.

There’s obviously some advantage to having all these associated state cup clubs or they wouldn’t do it. But the advantage isn’t that they have more players to choose from. Most players outside the top 30 aren’t ones you’d want reinforcing your NRL team, even if you had a hundred of them.

My point is those players are nuffies. Sure you can use them after round ten but they won’t make a difference. Outside the top 350-ish players in the NRL, the next thousand are interchangeable. Do the Storm use more players each year than other clubs? I doubt it.

I think the changes that have occurred in and around the club categorically prove it was the correct decision. The enthusiasm and excitement amongst fans is further proof. Whether this translates into a winning season is yet to be determined. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

Benefit of 3 clubs is that they don’t have to make decisions on juniors on who to keep and can make a decision at a later age, hence why they always have good ones hitting grade and they don’t get done for keeping one over the other like we have so many times
