If we ignore the first 2 games of the year where he played big minutes but combined his efforts in NSW Cup & NRL, his numbers look like this:

19 Games / 40 minutes per game
3 Try Involvements, 3 Linebreak Involvements
1.8 Tackle Busts/g & 1.1 Offloads/g
11 runs/g for 108 metres/g
21 tackles/g @ 92% effective
8 errors (0.4/g) & 7 penalties (0.4/g)

It'll be interesting to see how he goes moving forward with our smaller, more mobile approach in the forwards. He should go well alongside Hopgood, Williams, and Guymer really punishing the middle.

Gotta say, and I might regret this horribly by round 10, but I haven’t been as excited for the start of the season in many years. I don’t think the boys will be playing themselves into top 4 or anything, but fresh coaches, new players and hopefully a completely different attitude and I’m f**king excited!
So glad about Moretti, never called it like @hindy111 but have thought he was criminally underrated. Love the fact he has a bit of merkin in him

Round 1 will have us under immediate pressure considering Melbourne have won their first round matches for the last 22 years. Let's be honest, who's going to predict an Eels win? I don't and we may even cop a flogging. I see round 2 as a litmus test on how we'll bounce back. Having said all that I can't remember when the Eels had their top 1-17 available to start a game and round one 2025 won't be any different.

Decades ago I told you Tim Mannah (when playing juniors) was a 100 game NRL player. You made the same kind of (seemingly stupid) comments you are making now.
We have also discussed your (at the time) favourite fringe guy in Ryan Morgan, who I guaranteed would not play 100 NRL games.
There are far greater judges of talent than me, but clearly you aren't one of them - however this is far from the point. That was the stage it became clear to me that your purpose here is to stir trouble because you deflect and refuse to admit you saddled the wrong horses in those cases. Instead arguing tangents and pointing blame elsewhere (hence I label you a troll - to me that is trolling behaviour).

I wonder why don't seem to come back and admit you were wrong? Instead it appears you seem to pursue vague half-commentary around hypotheticals.

In the end, who cares if Moretti makes it or not? But it is worth nothing that by you own (weird) metrics, the genius(es) in charge just gave him a 3 year contract, so that infers they think he is a top 30 guy. Hindy111 has been banging on about giving Moretti a go for years, he has just been vindicated, and you get weird about Andrew Davey because you want to avoid your previous suggestions that Momoisea would be better than Moretti.

You've shown your whole arse already mate. I know you're insincere. Why would you go to so much effort to misrepresent what I've said? I don't get excited about players, I'm the one who tells you not to get excited about them. So when I explain why the club might sign a backup or pick him in first grade ('defending their decisions') it doesn't suddenly mean I think the backup player is a star or even a genuine first grader. Every top thirty has nuffies and when you have enough injuries they might have to play first grade. All your other bullshit is just the trolling you pretend to be so concerned about.

I do. He's an Eels player ffs and I hope he kills it. Just don't get your hopes up or look for a scapegoat if he doesn't turn into a world beater. If he becomes a genuine first grader it'll be an improvement on what he's dished up so far.

He's obviously a top 30 guy. Have you seen the nuffies in the top thirty at some clubs? Everyone needs backups, and they'll still need them three years from now.

Moretti was given a go in 2023 ffs. Then again last year. He's gone okay. He deserves a top 30 contract.

I previously said that Momoisea was better than Moretti. I made no predictions about how they would go. When we signed Momoisea he had already played first grade and a lot more reserve grade than Moretti. Therefore he was better. Whatever happened afterwards doesn't change that.

I've told you before about the value of a half season sample. It is worthless. For example, the opponents we played in the first half of 2024 finished higher (on average) on the ladder than the opponents we played in the second half of the year. This isn't my opinion, these are facts. Arthur coached 10 games for 3 wins (30%), and 6 opponents (60%) finished in the top eight. Barrett coached 14 games for 4 wins (29%) and only half of those games were against top eight opponents. So Barrett actually won less often than Arthur, against easier opposition.

Facts like this is why 99% of dopes on here whinge that I'm a troll. What else are they going to say.

Love how he fails to mention we were having Ron Massey cup players playing when Bareett was our coach yet we were still performing better.
The squad was so much inferior when Barrett was coaching the team. However competing at a better standard and more enjoyable to watch than the early part of the year.
In any case I'm looking forward to this year under a new coach, regime, ideas, tactics and a united team.
