I have heard from someone who has a source within the Dogs club that even though Papalii has talent they were willing to let him go because his attitude wasn’t great.

Can’t say how true that is, but if it is then hopefully a change of clubs might see him pick up his act.

Hope is attitude is different to a bloke I had visit my pub long ago....

Sometimes a change of scenery and team culture is all it takes. Rylesy doesn’t strike me as the sort that would suffer fools or someone not putting in. Fingers crossed.

I also heard (I think) that he is/was an Eels supporter so maybe now he is wearing his favourite teams jersey his attitude will be fine.

It’s not about whether they are “good enough to play NRL”, it’s about how many games they would likely play. Jake Tago has played NRL, just like Zac Lomax. In that sense they are qualitatively the same. So there’s more to the comparison than just whether a player is good enough. You don’t need to be very good to play one or even a handful of NRL games.

I defined my question. Has Tago played more NRL than reserves? The question was clearly asking which of them will be good enough to play more than a handful of games.

His profile says he is 166cm but it has to be bullshit. Have a look at any video with him in it. If he was 166cm he would be tiny compared to the merkins around him, and he isn't. I reckon it's a typo.

In that case I would say Latu and Martin are both a no. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see either of them get a game or two, at some point down the track.

So JAC is listed as 181cm.
Therefore Paps would not be 15cm shorter.
He would be about 175cm. Tall and good enough.
Saw him play quite a few games in reserves and was pretty impressive.
The good news is the recruitment for the first time in a long while does not include a has been or a never was. They are either top quality first graders Lomax, JAC and Williams and then the likes of Ionghi, Paps Samrani plus the elevation of a good crop of youngsters...I'm pretty excited for the upcoming season

I wouldn't say they f**ked up on Alamoti. They cleared wasted cap space, by getting rid of a merkin in the top 17 contracts who wasn't going to be in the top 17 players picked on match day. That's not what they've done with Papali'i.

The Tigers have also recruited well. That's what you should expect from a team that challenged for the spoon. It's not like the club has suddenly decided to recruit well instead of poorly. We cleared a f**kload of cap space by arseholing three senior members of the team.

Why isn't what they did with Papa? How do you know Alomotti was in top 17 pay?
