I disagree. Decision making is a skill. That’s why all the top company leaders get paid the big bucks. They tend to be the best decision makers. The ones who make poor decisions lose their jobs. Not all decision makers are equal.
You've missed my point. You (and I) wouldn't know whether these decisions are any good, even in hindsight, because you don't know whether the club calculated the risks correctly. We also don't know how many of these decisions, in isolation, were impacted by randomness (luck), whether good or bad.

We could only get an idea of the quality of decision making in aggregate, by looking at onfield results (e.g. wins) over time. Even then we don't know the relative resource constraints our club is operating under relative to the rest of the competition.

As for our results over time, the current regime has been in charge since 2019 and we have won 55% of games since then. It's better than most teams have won in that period. How can you claim they a poor decision makers?

Not a personal attack, but this post is idiotic.

What you are essentially arguing is that no decision can ever be judged as correct or incorrect by any third party....by your argument, the only person who can evaluate the correctness or merit of a decision is the very person who made that decision. You also seem to be saying that an overall win rate validates their every decision? Wrong.

Nonsense. Here in the real world decisions are evaluated every day based almost solely on what transpires as a result of that decision - much as what Emjaycee said.

f**k I shouldn't have done that, I have just set in train about 300 replies...see you all in a week or so.

I’m ok with how he left. Only muppets in the media carry on like it was some massive display of disrespect.
Exactly. He was the one that broke the contract because he saw a 3 year deal on the table from a rival rather than sticking out the last year of his contract at the club he was captain for and trying to prove he was worthy of an extension...

longest off season ever, especially when we actually have something to look forward to this season
Good point. I’m actually really excited to get more of an insight into our footy ops through the year and how that’s going.

Of course Ryles does his own thing but coming from Roosters and Storm you’d hardly expect the principles of hard work and proper football programs we should see a number of our players grow which is cool as.

The best thing i heard Ryles say was he knows he isn't Craig Bellamy, Trent Robinson or Eddie Jones.

So it is pointless trying to be them.

He has learnt off them sure & will mould the bits he sees from everyone and then fit them into his own style which suits him and the team he has at his disposal.

We ain't the Melbourne Storm so to think we can transform into them is stupid.

But what we are is Parramatta and Ryles is going to ensure we start from the ground up with connection with each other & then let that flow through onto the field.

Surrounding himself with quality assistants a mixture of experience with Brown, technical nous in Wisemental and connection/culture with Moa its a great blend of assistants that will get the best out of everybody in the team.

This confirms what I have heard as well. I know for a fact that at least one senior player that was close with Brad has confirmed that he didn’t realise how much better things would be under a different coach and how much better the systems are…and this player was previously adamant that Brad was the guy to turn things around.

I can see how this also sounds like confirmation bias, in that this player just supports the system he is in, but for what it’s worth I have heard the player talk about this himself and he cited specific systems, methods, attitudes and drills…and he said the entire squad is noticing the improvements.

Lets hope it reflects on field, but even if it doesn’t immediately translate, this is the reason I believe we are in for longer term sustained success under Ryles.
Looking at just his recruitment, which is a revaluation, when compared with BA's. Now have very few nuffies in our top 27. Think we'll go very well this year.

Having known not much about Kitione Kautoga, I have spent a bit of time this morning watching some of his matches with a particular focus on him. It’s a shame that I haven’t come away impressed.

Based upon TCT reports, I’d rather Guymer get first crack on that left edge. At least you know you’ll get all effort coupled with resolute defence.
