The Parramatta Eels (“Eels”) wish to advise that Sean McElduff will be retiring from the Eels’ board as Chairman and non-executive director in February 2025.
Sean joined the Eels Board in February 2017 and has served as Chairman since 30th August 2018. Over the past eight years, Sean’s leadership has been instrumental in driving the Club’s transformation, guiding us through a period of financial recovery and stability, and positioning the Eels for long-term success.
During Sean’s tenure, the Club achieved several significant milestones, including:
- Returning to financial strength and stability which has enabled the Club to invest heavily in its football programmes.
- Playing in the 2022 NRL and NRLW Grand Finals, a proud moment for the Club and our members.
- Launching our NRLW team, enhancing our commitment to women’s rugby league.
- Establishing a strong foundation for the future, including the upcoming completion of the Club’s world-class Centre of Excellence which is expected to open in April this year.
On behalf of the Board, management, staff, players, and the Parramatta Eels community, we thank Sean for his exceptional service, dedication, and passion for the Club. His leadership has been pivotal in setting the platform for success on and off the field.
Sean will be succeeded as Chairman by Matthew Beach who joined the Eels Board in February 2023.
