First and foremost Joash Papalii is not 166cm...he's 156..no in all seriousness I'm 170 and he's at least 5 or so taller than me...maybe taller.
Brown was being massively mobbed.
One of the parra officials asked JAC if he wanted to wrap it up he said nah I'm staying.
Simonsson and Penisini were very popular as well...i was only there for the last 1.5 hours but it was such a great atmosphere without even a ball being kicked yet.
Players were scattered everywhere but it gave the fans an opportunity to get signatures and have photos taken with the players...go you mighty eels

JAC is one of the only few players that genuinely seems to love fans

Of course they're not going to put it down to luck. They need to believe they are in control of their destiny. Never mind the other 16 clubs whose squads all think they control their destiny. These merkins need to focus on what they can control and pretend good and bad luck don't exist. Their job is to play footy, not understand the things they can't control. That's our job.

I reckon luck would have been keeping the previous coaches and squad and winning more games than 2023/24 average.

He did initially do a good job but he overstayed his welcome by at least 3 years. In hindsight after 2018 was probably the year we should have sacked him. And please don’t include our 2022 GF appearance. We were easily the worst team to qualify for one in recent memory. Plenty of luck including a blatant forward pass missed in the preliminary final against the Cowboys, who were brutally robbed.

Well we never had the best squad so we needed some luck. It's good that we finally got some in the finals. The record score in 2019 vs Brisbane was also a lucky break, but we would've won without it. Anyway we had some bad luck in the finals as well so we were due in that Townsville game.
