Well if he wins a comp with the Roosters, I for one will be extremely f**ken cross.

I think the Roosters are in about of a rebuild. They need a 5/8 hooker and a fullback for when Teddy retires.

Manu will be back but I think the NRL need to put a stop to that.. He is only going to Japan rugby for a quick buck and the Roosters are accommodating as they are in a rebuild year.

Robert Toia is supposed to be a good prospect at centre.
They will probably sign Brown as it's close to his hangout Manu to fullback and steal a hooker from Penrith as they have a bucket load coming through..

I couldn't hear a word they were saying during the team presentation.
I was reading the subtitles.
No it wasn't the best. I may have been near a set of speakers on the lower tier of the grandstand and it was audible enough but was cutting in and out.
The lip reading made it worthwhile

NRL 2025: Parramatta Eels star Dylan Brown set to meet with rival clubs
Parramatta Eels star Dylan Brown will meet with rival clubs next week as the star playmaker looks to test his value on the open market.

Dylan Brown will begin a tour of NRL clubs this week with the Eels ace to be shopped to a slew of cashed-up rivals including the Dolphins and two Sydney clubs.
This masthead can reveal the Parramatta playmaker is ready to formally meet with interested parties from Monday as the battle for the New Zealand Test pivot’s signature intensifies.
Brown is happy at Parramatta but the 24-year-old has a clause in his eight-year contract to test his value on the open market immediately.
That has opened the door for a potential poaching raid, with Brown’s management having fielded expressions of interest from five clubs, who are keen to hold preliminary talks with the Kiwi pivot.
Brown’s management will ramp-up negotiations this week and are keen to source offers from the likes of the Dolphins and two Sydney-based clubs, including the Dragons.
With new coach Jason Ryles at the helm, the Eels are confident they will retain Brown on a deal worth in excess of $900,000-a-season.
Brown is believed to be seeking up to $1.2 million-a-season to leave Parramatta – enormous money which would make him one of the NRL’s highest-paid players.

Whether the Dolphins or Dragons would be willing to spend more than $1 million-a-year on Brown remains to be seen.
The 2022 grand-final five-eighth has also been linked with the Knights and Dragons, who have the funds to bolster their scrumbase depth after losing halfback Ben Hunt to the Broncos over summer.
Eels skipper Mitchell Moses has spoken of his desire to keep his halves partner at Parramatta and now the battle is real.
Brown has until round 10 to inform the Eels whether he will quit the club at season’s end, giving rival bidders another three months to blow Parramatta out of the water with lucrative deals.

Take me there
Penrith legend and former Queensland Origin star Scott Sattler, now an expert analyst for radio SEN, hopes Brown stays loyal after the Eels helped him through an off-field ordeal two years ago.
“There’s no doubt Dylan is a guy in demand,” said Sattler, the Gold Coast Titans’ inaugural football boss.
“There was a push for the club to sack him, but the Eels stood by him and I think that will be remembered by Dylan and his management.
“It’s not ideal for Jason Ryles, but the contract clause is there for Dylan and he has the ability to explore his options.
“I wouldn’t rush if I was Dylan. He has the opening rounds of the season to show what he can do.
“He’s on a big contract at the Eels and he has the clause in his contract in two years time to test the market. I hope he repays the faith of the Eels.
“I suspect Dylan is destined for a massive season and it would be a shame if he walked out on the Eels.”
The Roosters have been linked to Brown but insist they won’t be making a formal play even if they have the funds under the salary cap to be a threat.
Aside from Joseph Suaalii and Joey Manu’s twin defection to rugby union, the Tri-Colours have farewelled veteran enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (Hull KR), Sitili Tupouniua (Bulldogs) and Terrell May (Tigers).
But it’s the departure of premiership playmaker Luke Keary that will test the Roosters’ scrumbase stocks. Compounding Keary’s loss, gun halfback Sam Walker may not be seen until July as he recovers from a knee reconstruction.
The Dolphins lack depth in the halves and Katoa would benefit from having the support of an international playmaker.
Entering his seventh season, Brown has played 123 NRL games and is one of the hottest playmakers to hit the open market. Other leading halves off-contract at season’s end include Daly Cherry-Evans, Adam Reynolds, Te Maire Martin and Cody Walker.
Brown also has another get-out clause for 2027 - at a time when new expansion clubs Western Bears and PNG will be ready to enter the NRL - but Sattler believes the Moses factor is crucial.
“Dylan will be a better player because Mitch Moses has gone to another level himself,” he said.
“Mitch was criticised for a few years but he has basically stuck the middle finger up to his critics and said look what I can do at Origin level.
“With the captaincy and confidence in his game, that will take Mitch to another level and his growth will help Dylan.
“Dylan would have to go to a lot of clubs to find another halfback like Mitchell Moses to partner with. He has to remember that. They have a great partnership and they can help each other get better.”

“If any club is a threat, it has to be the Roosters,” Sattler said.
“They are a glamour club and they need halves after losing Luke Keary and Sam Walker won’t be back until later this year.
“The Roosters are the obvious target every time a player comes off-contract. They always seem to be thrown into the mix, but in this instance they are a legitimate option because of the amount of players they have lost.
“The Dolphins also need a playmaker to complement Isaiya Katoa, so several clubs will entertain the idea of signing Dylan, but can they afford $1 million-plus ... I’m not sure.”

Saint, Sinner, Shoosh: Nathan Hindmarsh replaces Ryan Girdler on Triple M radio show
Triple M have found a surprise replacement after ex-NRL star Ryan Girdler quit has role, while the reason why Francis Molo wants to quit the Dragons can be revealed. That and more in Saint, Sinner, Shoosh.
Phil Rothfield

One of the NRL’s most respected commentators has quit his role at Triple M.
Fan favourite Ryan Girdler, the former Kangaroo, Origin and premiership-winning centre, has stepped down from the network’s Saturday Scrum show and also his duties as a match commentator.
The station has secured Fox Sports star and Parramatta legend Nathan Hindmarsh as his replacement to work alongside Tony Squires and Wade Graham.
Girdler is walking away for personal reasons.
His father-in-law, who lives in Europe, is battling health issues and he wants to support his wife and travel overseas.
He has been at Triple M since the network started calling rugby league in 2012, respected for his measured opinions on the big footy issues and as a commentator never afraid to express his views, even on the touchiest subjects.

It’s been an amazing journey at Triple M working alongside some great and very talented people,” Girdler said.
“I’ll miss it but at the moment I have other things to do and I could be away for an extended period.”
Hindmarsh is a nice pick-up for the station. He is a hugely popular figure in the game with a great sense of humour and a laid-back, almost goofy style.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Hindmarsh said.
“It’ll be fun in what’s going to be a great season.
“I’m a bit nervous but it’s probably a little more relaxed than TV without the camera in your face. Hopefully not too relaxed in case I say something I probably shouldn’t say.”
Triple M’s head of sport Ewan Giles backed Girdler’s decision.
“We fully support Girds and his decision to put his family first in 2025,” Giles said.
“I want to thank him for everything he has done for Triple M NRL and we wish him well for the next stage of his life. He is and will always be a member of the Triple M NRL team.”

And on Hindmarsh: “I can’t wait to hear what Hindy will bring to Triple M NRL this season. Not only a great player, but an even greater character.”
Triple M will launch the season with its full commentary team travelling to Las Vegas for the blockbuster season openers.

BRONCOS’ BEER BOYS
We’re not sure if this is a good look or not – a Tik Tok video of Broncos stars Patrick Carrigan and Ben Hunt doing shoeys at the Luke Combs concert in Brisbane last week. Personally, I don’t have a problem with it. It’s a long season and footy players are entitled to enjoy their down time. Some, however, might view it differently so close to the footy season kick-off at a club that had culture issues last year. Latrell Mitchell certainly caused a stink when he shotgunned a beer on stage at a Combs concert in August 2023.
MOLO’S ANGER AT BOOZE JIBE
The reason why prop Francis Molo wants to quit St George Illawarra can be revealed.
He got upset over what was supposed to be a lighthearted comment relating to alcohol made by a member of Shane Flanagan’s coaching staff. Molo took it to heart because he hasn’t touched a drink for almost two years after being found guilty of a domestic violence offence.
In 2023, he pleaded guilty in Port Kembla Local Court to one charge of stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical or mental harm.
He avoided a conviction and was sentenced to a conditional release order for 18 months. He has been off alcohol ever since.
Molo fronted the Dragons board with manager Wade Rushton last week to fight a breach notice for not attending training. He is expected to return to training on Monday but is standing firm and it’s now almost certain he has played his final game for the Red V.

LOL the Telegraph and Badel had this headline as ‘Roosters set to poach Brown “ and detailed them meeting with him early this week. Few hours later and the headline and article has completely changed. Fair to say the Roosters weren’t happy about it for whatever reason but thanks to the powers that be at our club we’re set to experience this circus every year for the next 5.

It’s ok, we can send one of our esteemed R&R personnel with Dylbro and he will run rings around the Roosters staff, and show them how to do stuff and put them in their place

The Orrs and Dylan will see the error of their ways and redo his contract and we can ride safely into the sunset.

Next five? We will experience this every time we have players off contract, which is forever. You’ve got a short memory if you think this didn’t happen before the media found out about player options. It’s always been a circus, but now the media wants you to blame the club for it.

While it's not a done deal by any means, I hate this type of argy bargy surrounding where a player may be playing next year and beyond, and that goes for every club. I just hope that this is settled before the season starts instead of farting around until round 10 in this particular instance.

It should of been set at Dec 1 last year. We don't need this rubbish every pre season.
If he stays we'll cop the same in 2yrs. Best to end this now.

I still think he will stay. But don't care either way.
