Rumours and Stuff

Agree Dylans behaviour was a reflection of the piss poor professionalism this club had under BA.

Carrying on at media press conferences with cat noises like wtf are they 12 years of age.

Matto taking a 3 match ban at the start of the year started that whole rot of a season with ill dispcline and off field issues. And the club and BA got what they deserved in the end.

Ryles has been here 4 months and the standards and expectations on what it takes to be a professional NRL player have already been increased.

I mean, you're not always going to get 100% professionalism at any club, especially when you have a bunch of dumbarse 18 to 20-something footballers within it.

Penrith had player issues when Taylan May was beating up his wife, or when Mitch Kenny was tweeting about doing lines, Tyrone May making sex tapes without consent or just when most of the team were generally acting like dickheads after beating us in the GF.

Melbourne players getting busted using coke. NAS generally acting like a complete thug on the field.

Ezra Mam at Brisbane.

Spenser Leniu throwing around racial slurs at the Roosters.

Sure, Brown f**ked up and did the wrong thing. Very poor behaviour. Not sure you can pin it on BA or the club though as opposed to just an idiot behaving like an idiot.

Not sure what Moses said was all that bad.
He was asked about Brown and he said he can have all the time he needs to make a decision, that he loves playing with him and hopes he stays.

Nathan said exact same in regards to Luai.
The end of day Penrith have the titles but they will never have the same amount as supporters. We maybe losers but we are the most loved club in the NRL. Every merkin wants to know our business.

Small tin pot club my arse. More like the sleeping giant.

Nobody has ever seriously called us that.

The thing with Matto is he has a fairly clean record and his incident was barely worthy of a 1 week ban. Part of me wonders if his reaction was more due to frustration.
I think they said he had to lodge his plea by the Monday night, within 24 hrs of the GF. Ridiculous. Wouldn't have slept amongst other things. Of course he wasn't in the right mindset to make the decision. The club should've stepped in and made him think it through before the decision was made.
And the nrl shouldn't have had such a short time frame, he wasn't playing again until the start of the next season anyway

They announced when it was signed that there were 3 options in his contract going out until end of 2031. So assume options for 2026+27, 28+29 and 30+31.
So it follows that if he takes up the current option it would be for 2 years and therefore his next option would be Round 10, 2027 for seasons 2028 and 2029.

Understood and agree. He could take up or not his next option Round 10 2027, but he could start negotiating (as he is now) November 26. He will always be a maximum 12 months away from negotiating his next deal.

Did anyone else think Moses looked nervous in his first press conference as captain? He definitely was.

He probably was.
He's done plenty of interviews before, but this was his first time as a club captain. Probably trying to make sure he didn't say the wrong thing, like "I love playing with Dylan and I hope he stays".

let me just check my records

You don't have to. I can fill you in.

Certain members here (one in particular, you wouldn't know him) would point out how other clubs have more resources than we do.

Other members here questioned this line of thinking and started taking the piss, saying "Well we have no resources because we are a shit, tinpot club".

So basically, no one has ever seriously said that.

It isn't currently November 2025 though. Assume he takes up his option in May 2025, he can't negotiate for 2028 until November 2026 - 18 months later.

Hopefully it is a genuine appreciation for the gravity of the role.

He has an opportunity to go down as one of the greats of the NRL and potentially the greatest Eel of all time

Grew up as a Parra fan, never witnessed or won a premiership as an Eel.

We only rise to our greatest challenges.

We lack resources as a football club is a genuine piss take to win an argument on here.

So why can't posters respond by taking the piss out of those comments.

And does anyone on here seriously believe were a small tin pot club i think the answer is a firm NO.
