We won't be able to say anything until the season starts but BA already seems to have been exposed as a fraud with antique methods. f**k I"M SO HAPPY HE IS GONE.
A few little points extracted from the latest TCT training report…
- Rapport and fun within groups seems healthy
- Sixties was happy with ‘the specificity of the feedback delivered to the group’
I don’t want to sound like I’m reading TCT reports like tea leaves but combined with Mitch’s comments about training (length, specific details being addressed) it is clear there’s been a significant and positive change at the club.
In the last few years it’s been ‘fingers crossed and hope’ when I’ve watched us play.
This year I’m excited to see what happens.

Agreed with all this and I read the TCT reports too - the only problem is that their reports from the past few seasons could almost cut and paste in terms of positivity etc.

Not much else they can do, but their training reports in general are almost saccharine in their positivity - although they are useful for snippets about positions and lineups etc.

Mitch’s comments about training (length, specific details being addressed)

Mitches comments around detail was telling, the media pushed him for more info but he wouldn't elaborate.

Seems to me the professionalism has gone up a level under JR and his staff.

But Gutho admitted under BA, they didn't review attack. So the bar isn't high.

Attention to detail was sloppy and poor.

If there is one moment under the whole BA era which summed it up the lack of attention to detail was the semi final against Souths in 2020 in the most important moment of the season when Moses had a penalty Kick right in front its hit the post and most of our blokes are standing on 30m line day-dreaming. Souths got the ball of the ricochet and scored at the other end to go 8 in front and all she wrote.

You look at matches we come up against the bottom team and got beat more often then we won despite being a top 4/6 side.

That showed to me we lacked respect for our opponents and that came back to a lack of preparation & attention to detail in the preparation against a weaker opponent. It happened too many times to be a one-off

The sooner they piss that stupid musical intermission off their podcast the better too.

I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping.
It's the Parramatta way.

That and crying into my beer at the end of the game.

Nothing wrong with being positive, especially at this time of the year.
Almost everyone looks good at training. That's why it's always the 'Best Preseason Ever!'

The thing with Matto is he has a fairly clean record and his incident was barely worthy of a 1 week ban. Part of me wonders if his reaction was more due to frustration.
JWH takes someone's head off, had a woefull record and rarely copped 3 weeks for anything
You have to remember uncle Nick has direct line to video refs so probably has one to judiciary commission as well. Probably tells them what decision to make. Since Dyl was penalised for knees to the ribs 2 Eels players have had same happen to them with NO penalty. I'm surprised the Eels players weren't penalised for exposing their ribs to knees!

The PO hasn't changed that other than the media keeps banging on about it trying to stir up the dopey fans.
I think that will probably be a big factor if we move away from POs. The broader NRL view of them is self-fulfilling. However the confusing part around it is surely that isn’t the reason why they aren’t more prevalent around the league?

I think in general we just had a lack of respect for the fundamentals rather than our opposition.
Marking up in defence from scrums, ruck control, kick chase, playing Lussick at 9 when he can't even pass. All things that junior footy teams get right that we didn't.

The official announcement was unclear, other than that 2026 and beyond were optional: https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2022/12/19/dylan-brown-re-signs-with-eels/

Unofficially, WWoS reported it as "The first option in Brown's favour is in 2026, with a further option part-way through the six-year period."

and yet 8 posts ago you definitively defined his contract terms? Its almost like you are making shit up as you go?

Dylan Brown’s contract is only second the Kieran Foran’s who actually did have a clause in his favour for every year that he was under contract.
