The media would hammer them for a week over incompetence.

It’s definitely a stat. So are the stats @emjaycee shared that show a whole bunch of merkins came up with game winning plays more often than Brady. But because he just played for so long, he accumulated more of them throughout his career. A very good stat btw

His passer rating is also pretty good, if you consider the fact that a lot of it was earned in an environment less friendly to the passing game than it has been recently. To the end of 2012 his passer rating was 3rd best of all time. He's currently 12th best (behind a bunch of current players and Drew Brees).
