I have been to the early games at Commbank and up until this year I have not been impressed with him but he has been very good this year and is bending the line regularly. I think it is a good move to extend him, One day I can see him and Tuavati as our starting props.

Doubt Ryles wants to keep either Hands resigned as insurance if Smith isn't up to it later this year or we go out and get a new hooker

With Tigpies paying part of his salary, I guess he was reasonable value whilst he was here.

Is that how easy it is to get rid of some players, just drop them to Reserve Grade? At least JOffa can take a hint I guess.

He only had half a season to run. Given he's been starting for us, we might've been better off keeping him in the squad. It's not like we're better without him. It would depend on how much of his salary we're able to spend on upgrades.

The real view is that he was offered a longer deal overseas and the club didn’t want to stand in his way. Joe O has been allowed to further his career and good on the club for recognising he is a family man as well as a footballer. His presence on the field wasn’t going to alter this season, and provides an opportunity to see if the younger players can stand up to the NRL.

Apparently the deal at Leigh was dependent on Joe becoming available now otherwise the deal was off the table, the club handled it well to the benefit of an older player.
