Burton has never played fullback, not in senior footy anyway. He has played ten games at halfback though.

I think we are all well trained on the feeling of disappointment at Parra . If we miss and the dogs get him , I'd double down on petty and be offering that Mitch Woods a starting spot , talented enough to play 6.

Not the end of the world if we don’t get him. Very talented but also very overrated at this stage of his career. Had a great highlight reel last season but was playing in a terrible team where there was no expectation and no real pressure if he made mistakes. He chanced his arm a lot and made things happen, but needs to play more composed.
At the moment probably worth 600k increasing each year as he gets more experienced and develops physically.
There isn’t much else on the market at 6 so if we don’t get him we’ll have to bolster other positions like 2nd row (unfortunately nothing on the market here either but things can change quickly)

You’ve got to be mentally prepared to flip the script either way to not be disappointed.

If he signs with the Eels, he’s an absolute gun, the future of the club, a masterstroke recruitment.

If he doesn’t sign, he was overrated, overpriced, and we didn’t want him anyway.

Well, how many decent players did the club sign when we constantly made finals and a GF. To be honest, doesn’t seem to make any difference, was hoping they could string together enough of a message re what is being planned and available to get better players on board. Didn’t impact the Dogs, Tigers, and others recruiting when getting wooden spoons or close.
