It’s funny—not that I’m comparing myself to the great man—but Ricky Gervais takes the piss out of everyone, and people love him for it. Most comedians do the same. But if you say something similar on a forum, you’re suddenly a nasty bastard—and if you happen to believe in God as well, you’re a dumb one too.

Yeah but it needs to be funny and it’s only funny if it’s about people I don’t like.

Even the Talking Parra blokes who have been 100% calm down he’s a done deal at parra have just put out a post shifting the goals post “if he goes elsewhere we tried our assess off to get him but he chose a better fit for him blah blah”

the wheels have come off.

It’s a massive failure by MON, Jim and Ryles if he runs out in other colours in 2 weeks
How is it a ‘massive failure’? The player has options and there’s no reason we should be entitled to his signature. We already have Moses, the first choice Origin 6. In a tight market, how many big name halves are we entitled to? Why shouldn’t some other club get Galvin?

Why wouldn't we have a place , we have 2 spots in our top 30 and we also have a heap of cap space (think Joe offa) if we don't land him it's because we are incompetent at signing a player that grew up supporting the eels and wants to play with moses

it may mean that we're looking at other areas right now? or we found out that the dogs are going hard for him and we've shat our dacks and possibly pulling out of the race because heaven forbid if the morons that run the club ever compete for a signature.

Failing to get Galvin because we can’t find a position for him in the team is such a lame excuse. We would really sacrifice getting a potential superstar for the long term because we can’t make room for him with 15 rounds left in the season? If the club is serious how is this even an issue?
(To answer your question he’d play five eighth and you work out what to do with Drown later.)
I’d say it’s more that we are still paying Drown this year so can’t offer his cap space to Galvin for the remainder of the year. Yes we’ve rissoled a few merkins but we’ve also retained a few, including Moses. It’s likely his extension was front loaded into some of the cap space cleared by the loss of Gutherson and RCG.

As usual your responses are excuses and make little sense.

If Galvin does sign with the Dogs it makes a bit more sense he just hated playing under Benji and with Luia.

If he signs with us it makes sense he wanted out to go play for the club he followed as a kid...

Didn't we flick Joe this year as well must have part of his cap space this year as well..

We would have silently known that he could have come this year when all this blew up a few weeks ago..

Goulds interest comes across as manufactured. Good way of staying relevant and forcing Parra to pay as much as possible.

I fully expect Galvin to sign with Parra for the 26 season. Getting him earlier will probably require some deck chairs rearranged - hopefully can be sorted out.

Why is that an issue, sign him and work it out with the coach, our recruitment people can be so friggin lame. Tired of excuses, just get things done like the smart clubs. FMD it’s not that hard is it. Maybe get a professional in there, whatever.
Not having room and having no idea where to stick the best young junior in the game is what the smart clubs do mate.

I get that you’re keen to lay the boot into MoN and the R&R crew whenever possible, but not every comment is an excuse. Sometimes it’s just passing on what’s going around.

Just for the record, I do think we should go after Galvin now. He’s a long-term benefit, no doubt, and if we can land him, great. I was simply sharing what I’d heard about timing and logistics - not waving the white flag for the recruitment team like you always seem to think I am.

So our recruitment people can’t overcome the fact that his school footy coach is at the Dogs, seriously they couldn’t sell a root in a brothel. They seem half arsed and outthought, there are better people working out rosters and signings in Division 2 junior league.
Yeah 'cause that's what I said.
