So our recruitment people can’t overcome the fact that his school footy coach is at the Dogs, seriously they couldn’t sell a root in a brothel. They seem half arsed and outthought, there are better people working out rosters and signings in Division 2 junior league.

Sometimes it’s not an issue with the recruitment team but the player just makes a decision which makes the best sense for them. You can put your best argument forward as well as you can but in the end it still might not work.

If he goes to the Dogs then I’m sure they have been able to offer him something we can’t.

Yeah 'cause that's what I said.
By the way , good to agree.
Don’t want to criticise people at the club, but watching what has been the results of that area , it’s becoming more frustrating.
Obviously the announcements of the 4 extensions were put out ahead of this issue to calm the waters. Think we all know they were done a while ago hence another attempt to look better than they are.
To be frank, hope my fears are unfounded and he comes on board, but absolutely no confidence in their ability to sell the advantages of the club. The Premierships arei in the far distance and I was fortunate enough to attend them all, getting too old now and fractious to watch a big club fail its objectives. The good old days of a Brian Smith and then Bernie Gurr are fondly remembered. Seemed like we knew what we were doing then.

Perhaps look at who are in the discussions to get a conclusion , Gould against who. If it’s not money then what, Dogs signed decent players when in a funk, as did the Tigers, look at their negotiating teams.

I’m not against replacing MON.
However I also doubt he’s completely incapable of signing players.

I also don’t believe that money is not one of the major factors in these negotiations. Money is always a major factor, whether players and clubs say so or not.

Just to be clear on my earlier comment, my mail is our offer won't be the lowest in terms of money.

Bernie hired MON mate.
Not because of this but personally I don't get The Bernie love.
