oh now we’re talking….the R&R are good at that, real good…they eat that shit up.

great idea

Conveniently cut out where I did say Sandon or Wishart would be worth pursuing.

The point was I don’t want us going and wasting cap space on someone who isn’t going to be a long term solution.

The R&R have been rightfully slammed for the last few years, they have been dreadful and had too much faith in the squad that made the 22 GF.

To be fair this season with the help of Ryles they have landed a Lomax along with a raft of other young project players which is starting to bear fruit already. We missed Galvin and yes it’s disappointing but I really don’t think we should be cutting wrists over it.

I recall us having a disagreement here at the end of last year about how many times Galvin had asked for a release (you were adamant it only ever happened once, which was objectively wrong, but whatever). But you were saying what a good young man he is and how he had straightened his shit out because Richo and his dad were on the same page.

So yes, you gave his dad a wrap from memory.
You might want to refresh your memory by reading what I actually said which was totally different to this fairy tale.

youre probably right they may well be great options but my response was purely targeted at the incompetence dimwitts that run our club it wasnt meant to take the piss out of your suggestion

Not this time.....

He asked for a release prior to debuting because he at that stage he had Adain Sezer, Bud Sullivan, Latu Fainu in front of him and we just signed Luai. Not unreasonable for an 18yo kid to think at the time.

As told to me by the great Shane Richardson himself, he had dinner with Mr Galvin senior and the whole family is happy with where he is.

He has 2 years to go at $350k pa. Pitifully underpaid and the club is very keen to massively increase his salary.. wont happen without an extension. The days of Tedesco/Moses are over at the Tigers.
@Tigers5150, quite the fairytale

Watch the game again. Before the Samrani try Russell shaped to pass to JAC as there was an opportunity but Fox had cut underneath, just like he did later in the game when Russell passed and he dropped it. It was very much the plan not to take Saab on the outside, not just the speed of Saab you also don't want to be flirting with the sideline when it's a slippery night. We stayed away from the right sideline too.
I think RL needs to adopt the american football rule that if you take the ball over the sideline, you retain it. That would almost double the excitement in the game.

Mitch pussied out immediately after asking a release like the weak human he is. Galvin asked for a release before he even played a game because he was worried he wouldnt get a run. Subsequently announced himself on the game and never looked back. Has repeatedly endorsed the club and will be here for at least two more years.
Oof

Thanks for inviting me to go back and have a read @Tigers5150, it’s remarkable how wrong you were about every single thing about Galvin (or at least, how quick you were to flip the table).

If you are trying to say that Russell is normally a ball playing centre and looks to promote his wingers all the time, I don’t agree with you. I hope in our rebuild we can do way better than Sean, as a winger or a centre. Happy for him to hang aroung as a backup, provided he is not blocking pathways.
