Why are you just looking at a handful of seasons? What about the dozens of other seasons these guys coached?

I think this response sums it up perfectly..

100%
Brian Smith had to earn everything as a coach, going up through the grades and spending 4 years at Illawarra in their early days, which would harm his win record. One thing for Ricky is he has done his best work at Canberra.

Brian Smith was one of these schoolyard coaches who loved to get everyones scraps and rejects and turn them into a half decent footy side.

what Smith did at Illawarra, Sticky could of done at Parra but I guess we'd never know would we? .. I have a feeling that besides the opportunbity to go back to his old joint he also saw the challenge too great at us.

I wonder how 2013 would have went if we had Israel folau and the NRL didnt screw us over..

I doubt we win 5 games and come last.

We may not have made the 8 with the dogshit roster we had but it would have solved a few issues and released some pressure off Hayne.

Having Folau on the wing or Centres.

it would of been an instant destination club...

the attraction of playing the same side as Izzy and Hayne would of made any young up and coming player moist with envy.

Folau on one wing, Semi would have been on the other and Hayne at the back.

In 2014 would have been awesome side to watch.

Semi was on the cheap in his first year would have been able to afford all 3.

it's an absolute tragedy that 1) we never got him back at the club even as an administrator and 2) no other club hired him ( other than the Warriors as a consultant )

easily the greatest ever coach not to win a GF.
Made GF’s at 3 different clubs. Had to go up against the State of Origin Broncos for over a decade.

Only Bennett and the Wok have achieved that I think.

RS is good at identifying talent, and also no talent that we had a plethora of, and we should be thankful that he came in for 1 year and helped sort this place out.
I didn't want Ricky when we signed him.

Most sharkies fans said be warned you may be shocked once he gets there his not as good as you think.

Ricky's stocks were all time high when we got him in 2012 just coached NSW and almost beat an all-time champion team i think that year was the Cronk FG and the BS obstruction try QLD got over the line.

Then you had the Inglis try in game 1 down in Melbourne where he dropped it as cold as spud.

NSW were dudded royally in 2012 in both losses

I thought it was more about Spags nailing someone with a profile to keep himself in charge.

Calling Ricky the best signing since Jack Gibson was downright embarrassing for all involved.

Steve Kearney did more damage to this club if you want to look at it from a coaching perspective.

At least Ricky did clean up some of his mess so Arthur had a bit of cleaner slate to work with.
