we don’t seem to have signed a rep level player in competition with other clubs for years, if any club needed a statement signing it’s the Eels. If you have faith that the recruitment guys will succeed, then you’re one of the very few.

Signing players in high demand is the best way to overpay for merkins.

We need results at the back end of the year once he is fit.

What does it do to a playing group if your highest paid player is fit and just watching the kids struggle from the sideline. It will be demoralizing.

It won't happen and were not playing for draft picks where it can be a potential excuse.

He has been playing with niggles all season . If he is gone for another 6 weeks Id rather see him get his body right for next year. Last few years he has been out injured regularly and our season falls apart.
Of course Id rather see him playing but if he is carrying injuries Id then it would be better get him ready for next year and use the rest of this season to trial our potential halves for next year. Depends on how his body is. We need him firing next year.

In the past 12 months we’ve signed:

As well as backups Hawkins, Volkman, Samrani and Papalii (and those last three are young). Plus we uncovered Tuivaiti and Ryley Smith.

I expect we will uncover up to half a dozen more first graders by the start of next season, not to mention signing several first graders like we did after this time last year.
