I've been on rently Heat pumps are super efficient due to their COP , still don't see how they are better than gas instantaneous though.

I've been on instantaneous gas since 2009 and reckon it's great but the price of gas is climbing fast. My solar now deals with my heatpump and i got the rebate to soften the blow

Heat pumps are like having an air conditioner attached to your HWS. IF something goes it will be $$ and parts maybe hard to source. You may save a few bucks on power I guess.

still prefer electric off-peak myself, despite the price of electricity

heat pumps are the most efficient but costly and a very slow recovery period, meaning if you run out of hot water its 8-10 hours to recover again

Two issues here. You don’t get a free pass to say bigoted shit and then activate your “religious” shield. It has nothing to do with being religious. People need to start taking responsibility for their own views instead of weaponising their religion to justify their bigoted views. Secondly, you're assuming that religious people (even from the same denomination) are a monolith. Thats demonstrably not true. The Catholic Church has homosexual priests in the clergy.
