They certainly are not mutually exclusive. Logic and reason tell us when we can and cannot know something for certain. When we can't know for certain, but want to act, we must rely on faith. If you don't want to act in the face of uncertainty, then of course you don't need faith.
I may disagree with you on football matters, but this is one of the best posts I have ever read.

I wonder if I posted a video on how Allah or Mohammed or Buddha were not real, and I made fun of islamic or Buddhist people’s faith and mocked their beliefs if it would be allowed to stand in here?

my guess is no.

Being male, white, and Christian in today’s world basically means you are fair game for abuse and ridicule without reproach… no one bats an eyelid.

Do you get a free pass to say ungodly shit and then activate your “atheist” shield? Should atheists in countries where they are the minority be free to spout their offensive opinions?

They are a monolith in the sense that they are not atheists and are unlikely to agree that only atheists may express their opinions in public.

Well the ones with views you don’t like obviously believe the ones with views you do like are heretics.
Saying “ungodly shit” isn’t an atheist privilege so that’s a bad analogy. Do you think Christians don’t criticise other religions and say things they would consider “ungodly”? I don’t think any religion should be above criticism so yes I think they should be allowed to spout “offensive opinions” where they are the minority. That’s how you hold organisations in power to account.

I never said only atheists can express their opinions in public. I’m saying anyone who uses their religious beliefs as a shield to mask their bigotry should be called out. Douhei is a public figure. He’s the one who chose to comment on it.

it’s not about what “views I don’t like”. Some things are objectively discriminatory. People in the past used Christianity to justify slavery. If it was part of their religious beliefs and I happened to not “like” it then am I impinging on their rights to express their religious views by calling them out? I grew up as a Muslim but I chose to leave the religion as a young adult. In some countries I would be put to death. I guess I shouldn’t call out such shitty behaviour because it would be activating my “atheist shield” or some nonsense?

Genuinely and seriously, from my memory (and feel free to correct me), Doueihis "controversial anti LGBT" posts was simply replying "embarassing post" to a UK post talking about how important inclusion and everyone getting a go was in footy....which is a long way from "bigoted shit" IMO. Is there more to know?
When you live in a bubble and something egregious is so normalised you can’t recognise it as bigotry.

Here u go Jeebus freaks

Logic and reason you say?

chat gpt, what percentage of historians believe Jesus existed?

ChatGPT said:

The vast majority of historians — around 99% of academic scholars of antiquity — agree that Jesus of Nazareth was a real historical figure.

Key Points:

  • This consensus includes both Christian and non-Christian historians, as well as agnostic and atheist scholars.
  • While miraculous claims (like the resurrection) are a matter of faith, the existence of Jesus as a person in first-century Judea is generally not disputed among serious scholars.
  • Historical sources outside the Bible, such as Tacitus, Josephus, and Pliny the Younger, support the claim that Jesus existed.

Leading Scholars:

  • Bart Ehrman (agnostic/atheist New Testament scholar): "Jesus existed, and we can know some things about him."
  • E.P. Sanders: "We know more about Jesus than about many historical figures of antiquity."
  • Maurice Casey, Paula Fredriksen, John Dominic Crossan, and others also affirm the historicity of Jesus.

Who Disagrees?

  • A very small minority of scholars (often referred to as mythicists) argue Jesus didn’t exist, but they are widely rejected in academic circles due to weak evidence and speculative reasoning.
In short: While scholars may debate who Jesus was (e.g. prophet, messiah, rebel), almost all professional historians agree he existed.

I'll leave you with a video from Atheist Bart Erhman. It's a long video, logic and reason use research, not shorts, tiktok and strawman arguments.
