Think some of you are being harsh , yes we don’t have the best back office but let’s have a look at the so called well known and supposed elite back office guys when they don’t have advantage of dodgy TPAS

Richo with all the power behind Souths was able to assemble Souths , he is not covering himself in glory at tigers (overpaid luai and still same turmoil in the joint)

Sullivan who was supposedly the man at roosters and did bang up job at dolphins is the man that paid $13m on dylbro and it’s not like Dylan is unknown quantity

If

Give us Arthur laundy who the Andersons got to the dogs not Gould and see what recruitment we could do

As for Ryles , he may not get the results next few years but the difference between him and our other coaches after Brian smith is you can see them learning and he is also setting up the joint for long term success

As for our ladder position , the experience and learning the team is getting this year if you look at the ladder , we already on better position then 7 clubs going into next year and I reckon with one or two key signings we will be guaranteed semis next year and the only way is up

Even Stevie Wonder could see that Dylbro is no 7....
If BA signs we can call them the NewcasEel Knights
Well yep they only had to watch Dylan play last year to realise he isnt a 7.

The most curious part of today i found is Riccio was on MMM NRL daily and said that Ryles sat down with Drown a month and outlined he would look to transition to other options in the 6 jersey in the next 2-3 months.

And was fine if Dylan decided to leave to Newy before June 30.

Dylan was happy to put the club first & didnt want to move to Newy before June 30 despite the opportunity being presented to possibly leave early.

And Ryles couldn't guarantee a FG spot post June 30.

Riccio begged the question does he truly want to go there even with the big $$$.

He had a chance for a 10 week head start and opted against it.

If he doesn’t get results in a few years, he won’t be here, and we start again ….unacceptable I think..do we go 50 years without a trophy?

I don't think Brown has an idea what he wants...

The money from Newcastle was too good to be true but I don't think his hearts in it..

Unless the Knights get a good head coach in charge that can get his head right he won't last his contract.

this season we’ve let go RCG, Sivo, Gutho and Joffa mid season. They were replaced by JAC, Williams and Walker mid season (I think Lomax and Iongi signed before we let the others go). Plus a few low $ players like Samrani, Kautoga etc.
So where’s the money gone? Are we paying players large amounts to play elsewhere? Or have we front loaded all the players we’ve resigned recently freeing up space in later years?

But hes also made some changes which are head scratchers. Im not advocating for his sacking but we need 2 or 3 or so top quality signings for next yr to add to the first grade experience of the newbies coming through.
What's dissapointing so far is that despite how bad a player or players are some basic dumb stuff continues and has done so since round 1.
Would love to see our completion rate when we have won and when we have lost.
We let riff back into the game with stupid stuff.
Play percentages, play for a higher completion rate. We dont want to get into the grind if we are constantly self destructing.
Playing attractive footy is great when it works but when it doesn't we don't have the gumption to repeal the opposition..
We are still inexperienced and lack leadership to have that steely confidence in us to back our defence...its a work in progress but how long can we keep saying it?
I'll give Ryles til the end of next yr before im really going ape shit
Purely out of interest, which ones do you think are head scratchers?

Interesting that a bunch of very good Penrith players followed Ciraldo but not one Roosters / Storm player followed Ryles. Even Billy f**king Rogers followed Kearney.

2027 is going to be even harder to recruit big names with the Bears having 30 roster spots and a completely open salary cap.
Does 2 equal a bunch nowadays?
And weak gutted dog person equal very good player?

I think people had some expectations of not being anywhere near the bottom the ladder once again
That’s because the roster isn’t as bad as merkins are now claiming. The problem is some of them are badly out of form, while others have been unavailable for long stretches. It’s the difference between winning 5 games vs winning 8 from the 16 games we’ve played so far.

Merkins we’re saying have patience in Kearneys first year too - He’s from Melbourne, he’s changing our playing style, he inherited Andersons roster…. All sounds familiar.
Kearney and Anderson both inherited declining rosters. Those squads got worse every year from 2007 due to declining investment. It didn’t start picking up again until 2014 when we began investing in paying merkins outside the salary cap. Then 2016 happened and investment dropped off again until the current mob took over in 2019. It’s been a roller coaster; by which I mean it’s been very exciting.
