BA WEIGHS UP RUGBY LEAGUE FUTURE
Ex-Parramatta Brad Arthur will make a decision on his coaching future in the coming days which could have ramifications for his son Jake.
Arthur will decide on recommitting to Leeds on a multi-year deal or return to Australia and seek potential coaching opportunities in the NRL. He was close to securing the Perth Bears job before being overlooked for Mal Meninga.
Jake – who will make his Newcastle debut on Friday night – has the chance to join his dad in Leeds while he also has interest from Hull FC. The Knights are also open to keeping him on their books next year after he joined the club mid-year from Manly.
“We talked about a multi-year deal with a few options in the club’s way and a couple of things for me,” Arthur told the UK press this week. “And I’ll make a decision on Monday.
“My priority is the game on Thursday, but I think the boys are playing Friday and Saturday, let them play their games and we’ll have a discussion on Monday.”
Leeds are fifth on the premiership ladder.
