Rumours and Stuff

After reading 20 odd pages of Pezet talk and podcasts, I think the thing to be bothered about is the ability for some clubs to out compete.
It may suit an argument to blame MON and the club, and he/they may very well be chumps (probably are). But even if they weren’t, how can you compete against clubs like Melbourne that are willing to keep throwing cash at a backup, as Braith said they could and would do?
Throw into the mix the Roosters, Broncos, Dogs and their cash.
Not ideal to get him for only a year if we wanted more but hopefully our young guys come good.
Not gonna dunk on Ryles here, he seems to be playing the cards he was dealt pretty well - The longer it goes the uglier the BA+Grand Final era decisions and contracts look!

You are an inveterate liar as well as a troll.

Read my original post - I stated that Dylan brown blocking the pathway had something to do with it.

if you are going to troll, at least don’t resort to envious and malicious lies.

Dope. Seek help.
You’re the one who said nepotism pushed Talagi out, yet you also think Dylan Brown playing the same position might’ve had something to do with it. Note, I’m not calling you a liar. Because that implies a level of self awareness.

Those decisions were made in a market where we were competing to keep our own players against clubs that don’t seem to have the same cap restrictions as everyone else. It inflates everyone’s prices and means most clubs can’t keep 17 NRL players in the squad.

The start of your post was good. Then you started trying to blame the club.

I think we are still in good with Talagi's family.
We should try to get him back in a year or two and we can think of it as Penrith cucking for us. Pencucks.

Big issue for me is - what if Pezet gets a season-ending injury in round 1?

Obviously, it can happen to anyone.

But if the player in question has a few years on their contract, you can get some sort of value out of them later.

Pezet is only here for 12 months, and any time way from the game-day 17 is a bad investment.

2024 = Knee reco
2025 = Rnd 1 injury in NSW cup missed 2-3mths.
Does his knee again and you'd almost put a line through him

I meant it as more of a retrospective, ‘hindsight is a wonderful thing’ than blame.
If you can’t win on TPA’s then I guess contract longevity is another lever you can pull.
You just want to make sure you offer it to the right people.
Easier said than done and another reason how the clubs I mentioned benefit; not only do the win bidding wars, they can flush out duds easier.

I’ve literally said it wasn’t nepotism with Talagi - how thick are you??

It’s either that or you are a malicious troll.

It's thoughtful, considered and sensible posts like this that keep me reading this site.
