Plenty of ordinary players win MotM. The grand final is no different. I remember reserve grader Paul Osbourne having his career best game in a decider. You just have to be in the right place at the right time, and then have favourable judges. One game is a small sample.

Because even at his best he wasn't as good as most players. Martin is though, which is why when he played his best he was a chance of MotM. Shaun Lane was MotM in a preliminary final ffs, and he was carried by his team mates all the time.

As a club we were privately happy for him to piss off & really by rights can we let him rot in Rugby now for 3 years and we should do so.
