I don’t know if it’s the same in Sydney but my experience in Melbourne is that AFL isn’t a prominent thing that gets discussed. I thought I might have to fake support a team but with a full season under my belt I don’t think that is necessary.

Maybe it’s a big city thing as I’m sure there are lots of people in Sydney that couldn’t give a f**k about the NRL.

What I’ve experienced with league in Northern NSW, Brisbane, Cairns, Newcastle and Canberra (all of the places I have lived in since Sydney as a child) is that it is adored and supported in ways that I haven’t seen with the AFL.

When it was Origin day in I would see so many people come to work in Brisbane with their jersey on.

Not an AFL expert but there have been some disturbingly low scoring contests in recent years. Has their product gone further down the shitter?

I was invited to a game at the MCG last year. I tried hard to be gracious and positive but it was as boring as f**k.
I've tried punting on the AFL and most of the games have an underdog paying at least $5

Went to watch the boys at Lennox today.

Everyone quite impressive. Few boys not training or limited involvement either due to limiting loading (Moses) or injury recovery (Moretti, Hoppy, Paulo, Riley).

Williams, Walker and Simo not present at all (know Simo had a baby a couple of days ago, but unsure on the other 2).

If I was framing our team based on what I saw today (and assumptions on some uninvolved players) in the field work and opposed runs

1. Iongi
2. Fox
3. Penisini (played inside fox all session)
4. Samrani
5. Russell
6. Pezet
7. Moses (wasn’t training but obvious choice)
8. Paulo (assumed only involved 10-20%)
9. Smith
10. Hopgood (as per Moses)
11. Kautoga
12. Kelma (though Williams my pick to slot in)
13. JDB

14. Walker (assumed)
15. TDS (looked super sharp as main 9 today)
17. Doorey - just looked super fit and focused
18. Tuivati
19. Joash (played 6 and looked good all session)
20. Guymer

Was Penisini at left centre?
