Pezet didn’t break a contract. He had a clause that allowed him to leave if the Storm re-signed Munster and Hughes. He did exactly as the contract allowed him.
I'm not referring to that contract. Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't he signed with the Broncos after his tour of duty with Parra? That's the contract that I'm referring to.

I just dont think we sign anyone notable. I reckon Rlyes has become attached to the current playing group and will develop within unless someone we REALLY like becomes available.
Atleast our juniors are strong. I guess issue is Moses will probably be an old has been by time they come thru and become difference makers.

right now, the most important people at our club are our pathways coaches, we supposedly have a decent crop of young players coming through and we’re going to need most of them at an elite level in the next few years because as sure as shit we won’t be signing anyone of real note…

So who are the Rabbit Butchers going to be shopping about? Did just read they only have 4 players signed for 28. Going to be a lot of turnover happening. Haas will be a big selling point.

Depends what you mean by marquee player. Do you consider 2025 signings like JAC, Walker and Williams to be marquees? I don’t, but they are still big signings. I reckon we’ll get a few more like that. I’m actually keen to see how we go with retention of youngsters. It’s been crickets for a while now.

Just resigned Nunn and on an nrl contract for 27.

As McEnroe said, you can’t be serious. Is this your attempt to absolve our lot from being active, how about losing a rep backline player and replacing him with a better one, does that work for you 😂
Sure but that's not what you said.

JAC I would consider a big signing. The other two no.

8. Haas
9. Smith
10. Arrow
11. Duncan
12. Fifita
13. Murray

That’s an insane forward pack but with Walker retiring they are most likely playing a halves pairing of Humphries and Glover.

You could have the greatest forward pack in the world but without quality halves I still don’t see the Bunnies as a genuine threat

Reynolds has announced his retirement at the end of the season. No real surprise to be fair.
How pathetic are the Broncos

Pete Badel and them are embarrased by what happenend with Haas the Reynolds story rushed that story through last night trying to get his own scoop and broncos deflecting as quickly as possible after being beaten by Haas story.

That the story is just full of assumed predictions where Reynolds is quoted saying he will make a call after first month but privately saying he will probably retire.

Reynolds deserved more respect then just being a pawn in the Haas story.

Big name player who's name had been tarnished and 75%, of people thought he was on the down hill slide. I dont think to many other clubs were interested. I would say it was more of a gamble that paid off. Didn't we only offer him 1 yr with the 2nd in the clubs favour.

I would say TDS has been out biggest signing under Ryles. I dont feel like the other signings had that much competition.

The benefit was not having a player who did not want to be here.

Is that considered an "equal exchange of value"?
The value is in the cap space freed up. Not helpful in the short term due to timing but still something we can use to reinforce the squad in future, assuming we have/had players to re-sign.

I think Ryles is clearly aiming for a Penrith-style model built around juniors and sustained success, not short-term sugar hits. There’ll still be sensible signings like Jack Williams, but we likely need one genuine elite prop to balance out the kids, which is exactly why we went so hard and so publicly after Keaon.

We tried, but Flanno and his crew torched us by dangling an extra year — the same mistake that’s repeatedly blown up in our faces with ageing forwards. Watmough, Lane, Cartwright, Joffa and Matterson are prime examples.
