It’s not about how rich the club is, it’s about having private individuals with deep pockets (at ‘arms length’) willing to help the club in the player market.

Haas needed a change, Bennett was homesick for Redfern, Wighton missed big city life in Orange so much he moved to the middle of Sydney. Latrell Mitchell had an absolute gutful of winning premierships (and so did the Roosters) so they parted ways. If only we had the foresight to throw our hat in the ring for all these winners. FFS MON

They were rich enough to run the top pathways in the NRL for a while, though it looks like the money has run out on that project. Still, you can't complain about four straight premierships. If it was just about Matt Cameron and Ivan Cleary they should be able to do it again, no?
They actually haven't done gooder, they have been very poor for years now. But they seem to have reopened the purse strings very recently. Or they are just desperate and running a very top heavy salary cap. The proof will be in the win rate, not the recruitment headlines.
