The 80's were great, but the 70's were better. You don't have to have been around in the '80s to want to see an Eels premiership mate. That is more important to me than a lot of other things in my life.

One could argue that we're the new North Sydney of the NRL.I agree with you totally. I am in the same boat.
But it must also be understood that 40 years without a premiership for a club of our stature and potential is simply embarrassing. In fact, it is f**king disgraceful. I think you'd be on the same page with that.
I also certainly agree with the frustration of many fans here born after "86".
It has just not been good enough and they all have every right to voice their frustration. (not aimed at you personally)

It will be great ill happily take 1 premiership and not care if we dont win another win tbh.You could of had a rats tail or flat top. . It was the best time to be an 8yld in the 80s watching Freddy Krueger and shows like the Goonies and Gremlins.
Like yourself ive never seen us win one. I hope someday we do.
Your another enabler that dribbles on nonsense and defends him like you are here. You and they don’t need to respond to him
In my mind, Talagi was, and still is meh. Prima donnas dictating where they want to play can all f**k off. Just like ol' mate Lomax and any other self absorbed NRL merkin.Talagi wanted to play 5/8 but we had Brown signed for 6 years with PO's in his contract. So Parra couldn't just offer the spot to Talagi. We lost them exactly to PO's
Moses had PO's and he has re-signed and removed them. He didn't leave.

My gut tells me Ryles will get us as close as anyone since 86.
Its the vibe.

Blaize is overrated. It wasn't the case of Blaize dictating but more the case of our coaching staff repeatedly saying we dont know his best position yet.
His father wasn't impressed and had no faith in the coaching staff. He also left for less money. I dont blame him tbh. Our club looked a real mess.
But on flip side we snatched Bamblet from Panthers and I think he potentially will be better then Blaize long term.
Can't be my adblocker, I can see adds all over the place. I get to the stage where I have the Gutho avatar up and the edit comes up over the pic, but then I try to drop the new pic over it and it just takes me to a new tab with just the new pic in the middle of the page and there is no other option to save or okay or anything. I also have tried to right click on the Gutho pic and there's no option to change or add a new pic available. Like I said I don't think it's an adblocker issue since I can see adds. There are also a bunch of jersey options to choose from if preferred, but even that doesn't work.

Yeah, well. It's 2026. I couldn't give a f**k about all that shit. It's part and parcel of every NRL club's collateral damage. It wasn't the case of Blaize dictating but more the case of our coaching staff repeatedly saying we dont know his best position yet.

Brave Rammy
I agree. I'm sure he'll improve under the Panthers system. But at the end of the day from a Parra supporters perspective, who cares?Blaize is overrated.

Past history. Would have, could have, should have. I want to leave all this shit behind. So far, I've heavily invested myself in the Ryle's era and where where it's heading. This is Parra.I still think we brought Blaize up too soon. We should have stuck him in Flegg and made him work his way up.

He won't play Origin, but he might go into the train on camp.He certainly needs to fix defense or wont last in NRL. But I think it's a bit to early to tell if he is going to be elite or bog average. Here are some stats from 2025 and where he ranked against the other 5/8s in the competition.
Try Assists - 7th
Line break assist - 6th
Line break involvement- 8th
Line engaged - 8th
Player in Support - 1st
Half breaks - Equal 1st
Forced drop outs - 5th
Considering his first year at 5/8 it was solid and he is also a decent goal kicker. Id rather he was still with us and the 450/500k looks cheap when we are probably paying Joash 300 odd
