Yep that’s what it looked like to me. I think it’s the wrong move though. Moses needs his hands on the ball as much as possible and control the play. I’ve been worried that Mitch would be more off ball since Ryles said he wants him supporting more. I think it’s the wrong call for our team.

We could of targeted a better centre or 2nd rower. f**k we could of offered Kalamotngi an extra 150k a year with the money and landed him.

And Moses also gives us options regarding the type of half we can pair him with.

We’re not married to Pezet, and he offers very little run threat. But I might be the only merkin who thought he defended relatively well last night. Every half bar Cleary and Drown would’ve got carved up.

What on earth did the club spend the money from the loss of 2 of the highest paid players in Dylbro and Lomax. The younger brigade are not in the NRL cap, and if they spent good money on Pezet for a year De Belin and Kelly then more questions on the work done by recruitment.

Who else were they going to spend it on? Especially Lomax's money. All the good players were locked up for 2026 by the time Lomax requested his release.

So here’s the real point, if success starts in the front office and somehow they keep patting themselves on the back, why the f**k aren’t we more successful., with signings and cap management.

some of us are a bit older and see a fairly uninspiring front office, (the days of Brian Smith running things seems so long ago) really questions need to be asked and answered and perhaps Matt Beach can do that.

This is similar to the concept of 'reversion to mean'. Those clubs recruited well because they were coming off a low base. We recruited poorly because we were coming off a higher base. Similar to how the Panthers recruited poorly while they were winning comps. Their team got weaker every year, but merkins don't notice because they kept winning.

Of course you'll say we didn't win the comp so we shouldn't have lost any players, but tell that to the merkins who left chasing the money. A player doesn't need to win the comp for his value to increase.
