This is not a dig at you guys, but Ive never seen anything impressive about him when he played for the Storm either. He has been talked up as the next Cronk or whatever but Ive never seen it. Ive been watching you guys talk him up since you signed the rental agreement and thought maybe others are seeing something I cant see.

It is only rd 1 however and Ive pretty much just set in stone that he wins man of the match Rd5.

I still think Pezet will be a handy acquisition. He is as brought in as as stop gap while Lorenzo gets a season in cup against men - only then will he be ready for first grade.

being honest - Mitch won’t play 26 games this year - history says he’ll pick up some sort of injury and miss time, and very likely play origin - that’s where Pezet plays 7 and can direct the team around.

Pezet and Mitch together is going to take some work to gel as they are both used to being dominant playmakers. That benefits us when Mitch is off the field.

Whilst I question MON and our recruitment teams decisions, the Broncos didn’t sign Pezet to be their long term 7 just because Anasta talked him up. They are the premier club and rarely make poor recruitment decisions - and valued Pezet enouth that they released a gem in Cody Black who I know was rated so highly up here.

think we’re still a few weeks away from seeing Pezet anywhere near his best and that’s largely due to him playing a somewhat unfamiliar position to work in with Mitch

Penrith won four premierships with a small pack. The reason was that they controlled the ball, and when they didn't, they could still defend their mistakes. Big boppers are great when they don't have to make many tackles. Less great when they do.

They hit like hammers in defense. Stats may show a tackle as a tackle. But a Hopgood tackle or De Bellin flop doesnt sap the energy of opposition. They hit like pussy-cats. Meow

Pezet isn't untried. He had played 18 NRL games and 28 reserve grade. Also been a full time professional for four years. He was at least as good as Black at the same age. Pezet made his NRL debut when he was two months older than Black is now. Pezet played in all the same junior rep sides as Black (but for NSW not QLD) and also played Australian Schoolboys. If anyone was a 'junior gun' it's Jonah Pezet.

Conversely, if anyone is untried it's Coby Black. He has never played first grade. What makes you think he will be a better player?

They just get more numbers into the tackle because they are toilers and they stay fresh by controlling the ball and not having to make many runs. Our guys hit just as hard at the start of a game. We even gave it to the Storm until the ref gave them thirty again.
