Ok, calm down, mate - I've not once said we don't need an elite halfback.
But clearly, elite players are steering clear of the Eels at the moment.
We don't really have much of a choice...
What so you don't think Parra have a choice in sacking the man who is responsible in attracting and signing elite players and has failed to do so every single time any other club has also shown serious interest in them?
So we now have all the best quality resources a club could possibly have and money to burn and spending big on pathways, coaching and all things football, but can't convince any elite players to play with a top 3 halfback( and up till last year an elite 5/8th) and a decent roster that just needs 2 or 3 quality players to turn it into a real contender.
But every other team including bog average ones just seem to gazump us ever single time.
I don't think you understand what makes a winning team. As big Jack said, winning starts at the front office. Our front office need to have no tolerance for failure of any kind. Failure to secure quality players that our roster desperately needs to supplement our juniors coming through is a catastrophic failure to elevate this club out of the mire of mediocrity and onto the podium of success.
I've said it before, we have to get rid of the one constant who has constantly failed to deliver on so many levels, including what happened with the NRLW grand finalist squad we had. How many times must this man live to fail another day. Cats don't have the luck this man has had. I blame no one but the men who pay his salary. They are fools for not being impatient and ruthless for success. It's the only way to have meaningful long term success.
How many more decades should we all wait? Grand children are now adults since we last won the thing ffs!
