Somone at our club needs to be fired over the fact we play Storm round 1 in Melbourne and then away again in Brisbane (essentially another home game for Storm) for Magic round. Was it the same last year? This is totally unacceptable.
We always rise to a challenge.

Strange , the Dogs signed Burton AND Kikau when they were playing like a dogs breakfast and added Crichton, Tigers signed Laui, Turuva and Terrell May when they were last.

What’s the issue with the Eels, could it be the guys tasked with selling the club🤔
Maybe ladder position matters less than throwing huge amounts of cap space (in the case of the Tigers) and investment opportunities (the Dogs) at them? The players are the ones selling something and like all professionals, they want to get paid. We already have enough former Origin players stinking up our salary cap. When they're gone, we might also be able to throw stupid offers at a new batch of overpaid players.

The Warriors have made a monster play to bring Melbourne winger Will Warbrick back to New Zealand.
This masthead can reveal that Warbrick is poised to sign for the Warriors on a multi-year deal from the end of the season as he prepares to cross the ditch to continue his rugby league career.
Warbrick has been a revelation since joining the Storm, having made the switch from rugby sevens to become a fixture in the Melbourne backline.
He has made more than 50 appearances for the club and scored 38 tries despite spending time on the sidelines in recent seasons after suffering concussion symptoms.

Has Adam Reynolds ever been a top 3 half? You just need horses for courses.

He is an all rounder and a top 2 or 3 kicker of the ball at his best. So when you have a player who has been as good as he has for such a long time and has all the experience in the world and then surround him with probably the best star quality teams, you can jag a Premiership or two.

What have we got? Oh that's right big talkers and pub talkers telling us all things have changed and we are heading in the right direction and that we just need a little more time....like maybe another 40 years or 80, Hell lets round it up and we will be WINNING in a century or 2....but definitely by the time Captain Picard gets his Admiralty for defeating the Borg and uniting the entire federation to a utopian galactic future or peace, happiness for all sentient beings in the quantum realm. Kum ba yah my Lord, oh Kum ba yah...

Might be a genuine "homesick".
You'd want to hope so.

Pezet has a bullseye on his head.

Sink or swim.

I think this is good it might steel him up very quickly.

We will find out quickly if he has anything to offer us this year.
Depending on circumstances, but after appearing overawed last week against his old team, if he plays the same this week, then I’d be prepared to drop him altogether and for him to go down as the biggest bust of all time. He’ll get better but if he can’t get up this week, he’ll have wasted 2 of his limited weeks with us to the point that I don’t think he’ll ever be good enough to warrant using the rest of the time.
He doesn’t need to be superstar but he can’t be turnstile and getting stood over by Joe Chan again this year

Chan stood over him when he forced an error, not when he missed one of his three tackles. The Storm halves both missed more tackles, but nobody stood over them because we were getting flogged, and most of our guys aren't former teammates.

I know the weren’t the same incident FFS…
If you want to think he played competently and that playing the same again is worth keeping him in for another 20 odd games then good for you, but I do not.

Ok, calm down, mate - I've not once said we don't need an elite halfback.

But clearly, elite players are steering clear of the Eels at the moment.

We don't really have much of a choice...

What so you don't think Parra have a choice in sacking the man who is responsible in attracting and signing elite players and has failed to do so every single time any other club has also shown serious interest in them?

So we now have all the best quality resources a club could possibly have and money to burn and spending big on pathways, coaching and all things football, but can't convince any elite players to play with a top 3 halfback( and up till last year an elite 5/8th) and a decent roster that just needs 2 or 3 quality players to turn it into a real contender.

But every other team including bog average ones just seem to gazump us ever single time.

I don't think you understand what makes a winning team. As big Jack said, winning starts at the front office. Our front office need to have no tolerance for failure of any kind. Failure to secure quality players that our roster desperately needs to supplement our juniors coming through is a catastrophic failure to elevate this club out of the mire of mediocrity and onto the podium of success.

I've said it before, we have to get rid of the one constant who has constantly failed to deliver on so many levels, including what happened with the NRLW grand finalist squad we had. How many times must this man live to fail another day. Cats don't have the luck this man has had. I blame no one but the men who pay his salary. They are fools for not being impatient and ruthless for success. It's the only way to have meaningful long term success.

How many more decades should we all wait? Grand children are now adults since we last won the thing ffs!

We have a poor record in Magic Round (1-4). We have played the Storm twice for two losses where they have scored a total of 112 points to our 26. You might have a point.

I'd take Owen Pattie over our 2 hookers
Well TDS is signed for another 4 seasons until end of 2029.

We simply have to look at making it work somehow across the next 12-18 months.

Otherwise were going to be footing a huge bill for TDS to play elsewhere for a good 2-3 years and it will join the list of horrendous decisions our HOF has made in the past 5 years.

Fully understand how the restraint clause, and the deed of release works as have used them with my own subcontractors and staff over 50 times in the last 20 years... thankfully never had to get to consent orders.

But releasing a condition of a deed in exchange for compensation doesn't make it a swap, which is the word I don't agree we should have been using in the Lomax situation.

If people think your unpredictable then you dont need a restraint clause. You just need to tell a few stories of what you did to the last person who did wrong by you and they can be complete bullshit. Thats the best part....

Those 2 storm games at Magic Round

BA earned a contract extension the 1st time and a sacking the 2nd time
