So is it for this season or not? For mine, biiiiig difference in him starting a 3 year deal this season versus next. I think the money indicates we are desperate and also have cash to spend.

I would have been more ok with $900k for this and next season. But if 3 years starts from 2027 it’s just not smart.

I’m sure we offered overs to Koloamatangi. It’s just that the Dragons blew our offer out of the water. Now we need to offer significantly more than Broncos dollars. Are you starting to understand how the market works for clubs like ours or still desperately looking for a scapegoat to pin it on?

If you think $900k is crazy, how much do you think we offered Koloamatangi? An 18th club is coming in ffs, and it’s bringing inflation. Rethink what players are worth.

We also need to rethink retirement age. The NRL will have plenty of 35 year olds in the coming years.

I was happy to get Barnett, but when i heard the Broncos had offered $1.5m for 2 seasons i immediately ruled us out thinking we wouldnt value him that high .... well blow me over - we are really are THAT stupid.

$900k a year for 3 years - INSANE.

I could maybe cop it for 2 years IF we knew for instance that Junior was leaving, but 3 years is an absolute joke for a bloke who'll be 33 in the first year

Doorey is 26 this year. He is at his peak. Tuivaiti is still eligible for Flegg, and most NRL forwards were playing reserve grade at his age.

He’s not worth more because of his age, he is just worth a longer contract. He is worth more because he’s a better player.
