How long have some of you people been watch rugby league for? Honestly!

When assessing halves and backs, with very few exceptions most backs will perform poorly or inconsistently when playing in a dog sh*t team. So the best way to judge a back is from their performances prior to the team being so all round weak, if said player/s was/were fortunate enough to have played in a better and stable team.

So, to judge and critic our few better players on this years efforts is in my opinion a major folly unless injury or age is a true factor.

I mean look how bog average Cleary was against the dogs. He would be hard pressed to look as good as Jamal Fogarty ffs! Imagine if he played for the Eels week in week out and Moses was blessed to be in the consistently good Panthers?

Enough said. We need to strengthen the middle with at least 3 new and powerful palookas and hopefully a strong metre eater winger too. If we can do that by next season, then you will find that players like JAC, Moses and Iongi will once again find their top mojo and be elite again.

Agreed - Iongis shown he does tough carries and kick returns well. Also has that speed and touch to finish off plays in the red zone whether thats for himself or others. Not many players have that ability. He just needs to work on his defensive positioning and support play. Hes also made some decent tackles too when he is in the right positions. If he does that at least a top 8 fullback in the league. Still incredibly young and probably needs to do a lot more film work.

issiah has only played 26 games, so we are going to have to live with the start up costs.

problem is we have a fair few players under 50 games, its a very aggressive way to build a roster. i hope JR is right

You know it’s part of the gameplan if a player always/never does blah, including under certain conditions (e.g. in your own half or inside the attacking 20 or when the ball is played near the sideline, etc). But a lot of things are a matter of player judgement. The only solution to players making poor decisions is for the coach to take the decision away from them (and then trusting them to follow instructions). But this risks making them predictable.

The Sua signing at least is one of a genuine first grade player. I’ll happily take it.

If we can add a genuine front rower, like a genuine 100 game front row starter (I’d take an Molo type player tbf) and the same with 2 x backs. Ideally a left centre like Xerri/J Maclean from (ps don’t say Tomiko he is terrible) and a specialist winger aka DWS/Jenkins/Isaako etc then we suddenly look a bit different.
I’d desperately like to add another edge player like Nikora who isn’t getting much at the Sharks currently but instantly makes us better.

Too right. It’s impossible to sign any good players for 2027 and 2028 - that’s why no one has done so in the past 12 months.

As usual, you are right - the club has done as much as anyone could expect or hope for in forward planning its roster for 2027 and 2028

the club must be so grateful that you can educate the fans that they deserve nothing but shit. As you say, it’s not trolling parra fans, it’s just educating “dumb bogan fans”. You do God’s work.

I am not taking any notice of anything our clown of a CEO says anymore its just lip service.

If things need to change you need different people in and a fresh set of eyes and balls into recruitment and other facets of the football department.
